Kiehl’s Supports World AIDS Day with Limited Edition Lip Balm #1
In proud support of World AIDS Day 2008, which is held each year on December 1, Kiehl’s Since 1851, the venerable New York-based purveyor of fine quality skin and hair care preparations will introduce a limited edition version of its customer favorite, Lip Balm #1.
The Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 tube will feature the symbolic red ribbon – worn internationally to increase public awareness of HIV/AIDS and in the lobbying efforts to increase funding for AIDS services and research.
During the entire month of December, 100% of net proceeds from Kiehl’s World AIDS Day Lip Balm #1 will be donated to YouthAIDS, a non-profit organization that concentrates their efforts in the mission to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS among youth.
Launched in the early 1960’s, Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 is a vitamin-infused treatment that relieves the discomfort of parched, dry lips and is formulated with Squalane, Wheat Germ Oil, Allantoin and Vitamins A & E. This classic, ultra-smooth balm is designed to shield lips from harsh environmental elements and keeps them soft and supple.
Civic responsibility and a commitment to helping others has been an intrinsic part of the Kiehl’s heritage. In fact this is the third edition of a special offering created to benefit YouthAIDS. We proudly re-launched the “Eucalyptus” Liquid Body Cleanser in 2001 and “Grapefruit” Bath and Shower Liquid Body Cleanser in 2003 in which 100 % of net proceeds were donated to the cause. Since 2001 we have raised over $600,000 for YouthAIDS. By raising both awareness and funds, Kiehl’s aims to make a significant impact on the number of HIV/AIDS cases contracted by youth all over the world.
