Questions and Answers with Christina Smith for MAC Lashes
Here is a partial questions and answers with Christina Smith who designed MAC Lashes for MAC Cosmetics:
Why do you think lashes are an important part of a women’s regime?
Lashes create fullness, evoke sexiness, an can be used in many capacities. They open the eyes, and frame the eyes, they can create an emotion or a mood depending on the style worn and most importantly they can positively effect someone’s confidence.
Why did you collaborate with MAC to develop a new Lash Collection?
First and foremost, lashes are fabulous! Everyone should have access to buy, wear and enjoy lashes. You can change the entire look of someone by simply adding a great pair of lashes. Part of the success of my business is largely due to the fact I make the only handmade, made-to-order lashes in the industry, which explains why a large portion of my clients are celebrities. As you can imagine making custom lashes takes time and energy, which results in them being a little pricey. It was important for me to work with a cosmetics brand that cares about their professional clientele as well as their customers, and by working with MAC, we were able to take all the design elements that I use in the creation of my custom lashes, and make the entire collection that is affordable, unique and wearable for everyone.
Please walk us through the steps of applying false lashes?
Step one: hold a mirror below your chin, look down into the mirror, so that your eyelids are fully extended.
Step two: apply a thin amount of Eyelash Adhesive evenly to the lash band.
Step three: let the adhesive dry for about 30 seconds, until it becomes sticky, and not wet.
Step four: affix lashes on top of your own lash line. Let dry for a few seconds.
Note: I recommend curling and applying mascara to your own lashes before applying the false lashes.

MAC Cosmetics New Lashes by Christina Smith
MAC Cosmetics launches new lashes created by celebrity makeup artist and lash designer Christina Smith. Christina who has helped MAC to re-design MAC Lashes also custom designed lashes for Hollywood leading ladies including Liza Minnelli, Kate Hudson, Hayden Panettiere, and Gisele Bundchen.
Christina Smith created 11 exclusive lash styles with original new features and streamline packaging. No longer are lashes just for special nights out or glamorous events, they have become an everyday staple worn by women at all ages.
New MAC Lash features and benefits:
Color-unique blend of black and brown natural hair. Great for even the fairest lashes.
Clear Band-ground-breaking thin, clear band for easy application. Lashes can move, bend and blend.
Shorter Width-say goodbye to trimming false lashes to fit. MAC newly designed lashes have a shorter width.
Intentional Imperfection-more natural effect, no two lashes are the same or perfectly symmetrical.
MAC Lashes will last approximately 3-6 wears, with proper care. Store lashes in a cool, dry areas as humidity or warm temperature (often found in the bathroom) may compromise the curl of the lash. Cost: $ 11. Available now (since October) at all MAC locations (via an official MAC press release).
New-MAC Plush Lash Mascara
If you are all about sexy eyes and long lashes then check out the new MAC Plush Lash Mascara formulated to instantly plump up lashes. MAC Plush Lash Mascara builds superior volume smoothly and evenly from root to tip. What you get is silky full fan of lashes.
How does MAC Plush Lash Mascara works: fluid formula lightly coats lashes one layer at the time without smearing, smudging or clumping. Special V shaped wand prunes the bristles on one side while leaving the other side full and lush. The short bristles coax the lashes upward to a curl, while the other side separates and combs the lashes root-to-tip creating a long, well-defined glamour lash. Cost: $11.
