New York Fashion Week Report. NARS Beauty Report: Marc Jacobs AW16.
“There are influences of Alice Cooper with a touch of punk and the feeling of the NY Underground. We wanted to make sure all of the girls looked different, a little bit strange and dramatic, but authentic and unique to themselves.” —François Nars, Founder & Creative Director
New York Fashion Week Fall Winter 2016. NARS Beauty Report.
“Rachel and Flora have created yet another immersive environment to showcase this season’s collection. It’s this residential-feeling interior, with the clothing, furniture and flooring all in nude. They’ve literally created a blank space for the colors and textures of the accessories to stand out. We wanted the makeup to evoke this same feeling: clean and dimensional with a single bold statement of color to “pop” against its backdrop.” —James Boehmer, NARS Director of Global Artistry

BTW I tried the NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint and it’s super light in texture. Feels wet at first on hand but once you apply to skin it dries quickly into literally a velvet smooth matte texture. One of the great things about NARS foundations that works for me personally is that they never irritate my skin (and I have sensitive skin), it feels light on skin and my skin is still breathing.
NARS created the look for the Marc Jacobs AW‘15 runway show. LEAD ARTIST: François Nars, Founder & Creative Director.
LOOK: “Marc wanted a very strong, elegant and sophisticated woman this season – a Diana Vreeland type. I looked to the swans of the 50’s and 60’s – like Babe Paley or Jacqueline de Ribes, to inspire the look. Matte skin and a defined brow bring a nice structure to the face, balancing the greige gloss of the lid with the matte, velvety eggplant color of the lip.”
