Sean John Combs aka P. Diddy launched a new fragrance recently: I Am King.

Sean John I Am King New Fragrance by P. Diddy is P. Diddy’s second perfume, after Unforgivable for Men, P. Diddy.

The name builds on P. Diddy”s current Sean John men”s line, which has a classic, royal theme.

“I Am King is a statement about all men,” Diddy tells WWD. “We are all descendants of royalty ” and if we carry ourselves and respect ourselves in that manner and believe in ourselves, then we are all kings.”

“You have to look at all of the images they have out about Blacks,” he explains. “So when you see this image, you need to understand it”s bigger than the fragrance, it”s bigger than me.

“When a young Blacks male or a young Latino male sees this image, they see this elegant sophistication and they see I Am King next to it ” it hits their senses and they believe; that”s what motivates me when I”m taking pictures.”

He finishes: “Yeah we definitely do wear jeans that sag off our ass, we definitely like our music loud, but we”re also very intelligent, very smart ” you know, as they say about Barack Obama, we”re also very articulate. Yes, we speak well and we can also wear tuxedos. And we also smell good.”

The fragrance I Am King “…opens with tangerine zest, juicy orange, succulent cranberry and a proprietary Imperial French berry note. The heart is of kir royal, crème de cassis, premium Champagne and cooling Mediterranean water accord. Base notes are of key lime pie, lemon cream, rich labdanum extract, cedarwood, vetiver, white moss, sandalwood essences and clean powdery undertones.”

Top Notes: Tangerine, Orange and Cranberry
Middle Notes: Cassis and Sea Water
Base Notes: Amalfi Lemon, French Labdanum, Cedar, Vetiver, Oakmoss and Sandalwood

Sean John I Am King is available at Macy’s through the holidays and will go into broader general release in February of 2009; I Am King Eau de Toilette is $54-$72; bath and body products are also available.
