New York Fashion Week Report. NARS Beauty Report: Marc Jacobs AW16.
“There are influences of Alice Cooper with a touch of punk and the feeling of the NY Underground. We wanted to make sure all of the girls looked different, a little bit strange and dramatic, but authentic and unique to themselves.” —François Nars, Founder & Creative Director
MARC JACOBS AUTUMN/WINTER 2015
NARS created the look for the Marc Jacobs AW‘15 runway show. LEAD ARTIST: François Nars, Founder & Creative Director.
LOOK: “Marc wanted a very strong, elegant and sophisticated woman this season – a Diana Vreeland type. I looked to the swans of the 50’s and 60’s – like Babe Paley or Jacqueline de Ribes, to inspire the look. Matte skin and a defined brow bring a nice structure to the face, balancing the greige gloss of the lid with the matte, velvety eggplant color of the lip.”

Marc Jacobs 2011 Runway Show
New York Fashion Week Report. NARS created the look for the Marc Jacobs 2011 runway show. Lead Artist: François Nars, Founder & Creative Director of NARS. Makeup Trend: Blushed cheeks and defined upper eyes.
INSPIRATION & LOOK: “The look started with a picture that Marc had of Christy Turlington with really fresh skin and rosy cheeks,” said François Nars, Founder & Creative Director of NARS Cosmetics. “Marc wanted ‘icy cold cheeks’ and so the blush is drawn down in such a way that’s unusual…unusual, but decadent. Like a Renaissance painting.”
