At the Dolce&Gabbana Autumn/Winter 2011 Ready to Wear show in Milan, Dolce&Gabbana make up artist Pat McGrath evoked contrasts between masculine definition and glowing, feminine beauty by creating two very different looks on the models. The sense of contradiction was evident in the contrast between light, minimal taupe tones and deep berry stain applied to models’ lips.

Mandy Moore Makeup at 2011 Oscars

NARS Cosmetics will be lighting up the stage this weekend at the 83rd annual Academy Awards!NARS is collaborating with two celebrity makeup artists to create the looks for performers at the Oscars on Sunday: Mandy Moore and Florence Welch of Florence & The Machine.

Celebrity makeup artist Kayleen McAdams is working with Mandy Moore who will be singing her song ‘I See The Light,’ from the film Tangled; and artist Tasha Brown is creating the look for Florence Welch, of Florence & The Machine, who will be performing the soundtrack from AR Rahman’s 127 Hours. (Florence is also a fan of the new Velvet Gloss Lip Pencils!).

A lineup of jewel tones—mauve, teal and bordeaux—often layered with each other, were followed by a series of black numbers. The fabrics were just as lush, with plenty of beading and embroidery.

NEW YORK—Chris Benz had a Southern Gothic sensibility on his mind when creating his Fall 2011 collection. Indeed, it was his recent travels to Savannah, Georgia, for his role as a mentor at The University for Creative Careers (SCAD), which sparked a collection brimming with dark beauty. To counter this lady-like look, lead makeup artist Daniel Martin went colorful, with a look that was “a little off,” said Daniel, starring a “slept-in” eye, matte skin and bitten lips.
