New York Fashion Week SS 2011. Designer: 3.1 phillip lim (women’s). Makeup by Lisa Butler for NARS Cosmetics.
NARS was backstage creating the look at the 3.1 phillip lim women’s show. Makeup Trend: Nude lips and sculpted cheeks. Inspiration: “The looks are best described by saying they have the spirit of a modern female dandy- city girls in their strength but subtly whimsical,” said designer Phillip Lim. “Each girl is elegant with a sense of buoyancy.” The Makeup Look: “Youthful elegance was what we were aiming for,” said Lisa Butler about the look. No shine…polished, radiant skin “with dimension through sculpted cheeks.”
NARS & Thakoon After Party
On September 12th, 2010, following the Thakoon SS2011 show, NARS partnered with the brand to throw an after party held at the Jane Hotel Ballroom to celebrate the new collection.

With music by DJ Wolf and attendees including Chiara Clemente, Harley Viera Newton and Becka Diamond, NARS rocked the night away with the designer himself who said “it’s nice to take a break and hang out.”

New York Fashion Week SS 2011. NARS was backstage creating the look at the Marc Jacobs SS2011 show. LEAD ARTIST: François Nars, Founder & Creative Director of NARS Cosmetics. Makeup Trend: Glossy green eyes & deep matte lips.
Makeup Look & Inspiration: “The look is very reminiscent of Angelica Houston in the 70s-the bleached brows and the deep eyes,” said François Nars. “I wanted them to look like iconic models from the 70s with a modern approach. Marc had images of what he wanted the makeup to look like – mimicking the colors of the clothing but not matching exactly.”

Inspiration: “The clothes are light so I wanted the makeup to have a little more impact this time – as if the girls were beautiful, cool fairies,” said designer Thakoon. “I wanted the whole aura to feel like opening windows and letting in a breeze- fresh and romantic but tempered at the same time.”
The Makeup Look: “Golden, but not tanned. As if the girls are glowing from within… with, of course, confidence,” said lead artist Diane Kendal.

INSPIRATION: “Elegant femininity inspired by Catherine Deneuve and Grace Kelly with an edge of rebellion like Cyndi Lauper,” said Honor designer Giovanna Randall about the look and inspiration. With the venue set up like a Parisian apartment, the idea was to communicate a merge of innocent femininity and bold sexuality.

Naïve, fresh and with an affluence for dressing, they carry confidence like it’s second nature. Ruling the streets and proving that class is effortless, the Spring/Summer 2011 Phillip Lim man is gorgeous, and flawless-their innate beauty is best expressed through Lim saying, “Put a bow on this gift!”

Ladies and gentleman the new NARS Matte Lipstick in TASHKET is legendary. It gives the perfect nude lips and match my very light olive complexion. The shade is a pale peach-cream. Marta Walsh LOVES!!! I like to layer it with MAC Dazzleglass is smile (lipgloss first then NARS Pure Matte lipstick in TASHKENT). Only sometimes I wear it pure matte because I’m clearly addicted to a glossy finish. Expect to see NARS Pure Matte Lipstick during upcoming New York Fashion Week SS 2011, and the red carpet.
