Julia Roberts At The 2010 Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards

Julia Roberts’ Makeup. It was a big night for Lancôme ambassadress Julia Roberts at last night’s, November 8, 2010, Glamour Women of the Year Awards at Carnegie Hall. Julia’s good friend Oprah Winfrey presented her with The Class Act award, honoring Julia for raising awareness for issues concerning children and the environment.

Julia looked incandescent in a black fitted dress by designer L’Wren Scott. Her makeup, by longtime makeup artist Genevieve Herr, was just as radiant. Julia’s subtly smoky eyes were done up with Ombre Absolue Quad in Les Gris L’Wren from the L’Wren Scott for Lancôme holiday color collection.

Lancôme Celebrates Mario Testino’s Todo O Nada

On Monday night, September 20th, 2010, legendary lensman Mario Testino celebrated the launch of his latest exhibition, “Todo O Nada,” at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid.

The exhibition, sponsored exclusively by Lancôme, features more than fifty photographs, shot between the mid-1990’s and present day, of iconic women in various modes, from high-fashion stylings to sensual nudes. The idea, said Testino, was to capture the emotions that inspire his work. “I start the exhibit with the process of how you can decorate somebody and then take it all off to discover another sort of beauty, maybe even more powerful,” he said.

L’Wren Scott was feeling a touch of wanderlust and it showed in her spring collection, which she presented at The Standard Hotel, September 16, 2010. The Serengeti sunset inspired an eclectic palette of rich, intense shades. Sapphire and aubergine gave way to paprika and chartreuse, all set against the designer’s inimitable sleek silhouettes.

Designer Chris Benz tapped into an American-girl-in-Paris mode (circa the late 1960’s) for his spring collection this week. The presentation, held in the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center, featured models standing against a video screen on which the cult Claude Lelouch “C’était un Rendezvous” short film was screened.
