The Makeup Look, Inspiration & How to:
The makeup look for the Spring 2011 Vera Wang Collection was inspired by the glamorous and candlelit nuances found in the movie In The Mood For Love. The goal was to create a soft, romantic look that made a breathtaking impact. “The key to this ethereal look is the play on light and reflection and the striking radiance that results from both,” says Lucia. “There is minimal color involved, but the overall metallic effect makes this look both wearable and highly fashionable at the same time.”

Revlon’s Global Artistic Director, Gucci Westman uses her favorite products from Revlon backstage at Oscar de la Renta to create a look that she calls ‘a modern day princess.’ The Spring ‘11 Oscar de la Renta collection is full of feminine prints and rich color, which is signature from the designer.
“The clothes are so beautiful – classic Oscar,” says Westman. “We wanted the girls to be vibrant and happy and chose to highlight the face with rich green shades on the eye. The jewel-tones just pop and compliment the entire collection. It’s a great way to lighten up the traditional smoky eye for spring.”

Hourglass Celebrates Fashion’s Night Out
Hourglass Artistic Director Gina Brooke led an exciting choreographed makeup show with two other makeup artists last week for FNO, Friday September 10th, 2010. Set to music, three models were meticulously and fluidly transformed into beautiful faces of art.

NARS was backstage creating the look at the 3.1 phillip lim women’s show. Makeup Trend: Nude lips and sculpted cheeks. Inspiration: “The looks are best described by saying they have the spirit of a modern female dandy- city girls in their strength but subtly whimsical,” said designer Phillip Lim. “Each girl is elegant with a sense of buoyancy.” The Makeup Look: “Youthful elegance was what we were aiming for,” said Lisa Butler about the look. No shine…polished, radiant skin “with dimension through sculpted cheeks.”
