Lancôme’s Fall 2010 color collection has finally landed. Confident, avant-garde and extraordinarily chic, the collection, French Coquettes, captures the spirit of the modern woman at the start of the 20th century. Dreamed up by artistic director Aaron De Mey, the collection harks to signature hallmarks of French glamour. From the opulence of the Belle Époque to the bohemian decadence of Montmartre, the collection’s palette of deep plums, shimmering charcoals and sophisticated nudes are sure to inspire.
Beloved Lancôme spokesmodels Daria Werbowy and Elettra Wiedemann make their first joint appearance in the ad campaign, shot by Mario Testino.

The 10-page spread was inspired by Mexican actress Maria Felix—also known as La Doña—a woman who eventually became a fixture in the fashion world as well as in Mexican cinema. Once dressed by designers like Christian Dior, Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent and Chanel, Felix also commissioned serpent and crocodile diamond necklaces from Cartier Paris—clearly an influence in V’s “Ave Maria.”
This morning in Paris, the Lancôme makeup team unveiled their Fall 2009 color collection, Declaring Indigo. Created by Lancôme artistic director for makeup Aaron De Mey, this collection celebrates Paris in all its vibrancy. Aaron chose shades that represent the glamour, the energy and the passion of Paris—indigo blue, bright red and luxurious gold.
Lancôme debuted a few key shades during New York Fashion Week Fall 2009. At Chris Benz, all three Lancôme Le Vernis nail colors were showcased: Golden Audacity, Indigo Paris and Rouge Liberty. Lancôme spokesmodel Daria Werbowy is the face of the collection. She was photographed by Mario Sorrenti for the ad.
Declaring Indigo will be available for sale starting in August, but Nordstrom has a limited-edition Declaring Indigo brush-and-makeup bag set available for pre-order now. You might have seen this in the new issue of W magazine with Mr. & Mrs. Bruce Willis on the cover.
