I’m excited to share with you my interview with celebrity interior designer and television personality Kari Whitman. Whitman is one of Hollywood’s most sought-after talents. Jessica Alba, Virginia Madsen, Kristen Bell, Emilio Estevez, Don Johnson are some of the clients that have flocked to Kari Whitman Interiors for her trademark eclectic style, and knowledge of eco- and pet-friendly design.

In this interview Kari Whitman talks to Marta Walsh about her passion for interior design. Her working relations with Jessica Alba. The latest trends in pet friendly design. What and who inspires her. Why she would love to design a space for Leonardo DiCaprio one day, and future plans.

HOW TO GET THE LOOK: Hair Tutorial

On wet hair, Campora applied Fekkai Advanced Full Blown Volume Styling Whip ($23) throughout the head and then formed a middle part. Using a flat brush, he blow-dried the hair until completely dry.  With a 1 inch curling iron, he curled the entire head and pinned the curls up letting them dry for 5 minutes.

Frumpy and dowdy are not two words I associate with the usually smoking hot Jessica Alba. Unfortunately those are exactly the words that came to mind when I got a look at her latest hairstyle. She seems to have traded in her status as a sex bomb for that of a frazzled soccer mom. This messy, shapeless ‘do does nothing to accentuate her gorgeous features and makes her look like she’d be more at home in a minivan rather than in a miniskirt. Last night Frederic Fekkai Celebrity Stylist Renato Campora styled Jessica Alba, for the 2010 People’s Choice Awards giving her a young, modern, undone bob.

Here is how to get Jessica Alba’s hairdo at The 2010 People’s Choice Award:

Starting with wet hair, Campora applied FEKKAI COIFF STRONG HOLD VOLUME MOUSSE all over the head to create the foundation for Alba’s style. Next, he formed a middle part, and used a FEKKAI Large Round Brush to blow the hair dry. Using a 1 inch curling iron, he created loose curls letting them fall to cool. To finish the look, Renato applied FEKKAI COIFF Nonchalant Piecing & Forming Wax at the end of the curls, adding texture and creating a tousled look. This is a modern look for all women and can be worn as everyday or as an evening look.
