The hot new hairstyle that celebrities are sporting is the modernized, layered bob as seen on Anne Hathaway, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Garner. Formerly forbidden since the 70s, this cut is making a strong comeback this season celebs are growing out their layered bobs to hit just above the collarbone. This cut creates beautiful lines by emphasizing your neck and shoulders.

This is how to get Anne Hathaway’s modernized bob by Frederic Fekkai’s Adir Abergel:

To get this modern day bob look, you need a good volumizer like Frederic Fekkai’s Fekkai Coiff Bouffant to use all over the roots and dry hair upside down to create fullness.  Adir then wrapped hair around a 1″ curling iron, making sure to leave the ends out to create a relaxed curl. “Clients should ask for a choppier bob so it’s not so blunt, but rather has texture on the ends with longer layers that frame the face for body,” says Adir. “The long bob can become soccer mom-esque if it is too blunt, so make sure your stylist removes some bulk from hair by chops into the ends.”

ghd Runway Spring 2009 at LA Fashion Week:

The Look:
Inspired by Adrian, a famous costume designer of the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s, the collection featured classic, chic designs with a modern take.

The ghd Way:
Loose waves with a deep side part pulled into a low chignon for a glamorously feminine look to compliment the collection.

First, the ghd Directive Team applied ghd fat hair lotion to models’ dry hair. The product was then heat activated using a blow dryer with a diffuser attachment, which created body and texture. Next, a light mist of ghd sea spray was worked through the hair to infuse even more texture and hold. Using the ghd IV styler, a slight finger wave was created by gently rocking the styler back and forth starting at the crown and continuing all the way to the ends. Hair was pulled back at the nape of the neck and secured in a ponytail. Then, ghd polishing serum was applied to the ponytail to smooth out any flyaways as the hair was then twisted into a low chignon and secured with bobby pins. Finally, ghd ultimate hairspray was used to finish and hold the look.

Hair was then finger-combed into a high ponytail for a slightly messy effect. ghd polishing serum was applied to ends of the ponytail to tame flyaways, and the hair was then twisted into a knot and secured with bobby pins, leaving the ends free. A final light mist of ghd ultimate hairspray finished and secured the look.

While my stay at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel during LA Fashion Week I stumbled upon an informational late at night featuring a haircare line called: Wen by Chaz Dean. The next day I actually bumped into the brilliant mind behind the Wen haircare line: Chaz Dean. What a small world this is!

Chaz Dean is a Los Angeles stylist and his celebrity clientele list reads like a who’s who in Hollywood: Melissa Gilbert, Jennie Garth, Finola Hughes and countless others.

Chaz Dean was very friendly and even let me touch his hair and his model friend’s hair to demonstrate how Wen haircare products do wonders to hair. I must say, both hair were very soft to touch.

I haven’t tried Wen by Chaz Dean haircare line yet, but after my brief encounter with Chaz Dean and his model’s very silky hair I wouldn’t mind to give it a go. Of course, I will share my thoughts with you.
