MAC Colour Ready

MAC Colour Ready will be available starting April 2nd, 2009 for a limited time.

MAC Colour Ready: Seeking alternative energy, increased mileage from makeup… Colour Ready revs up the Prep + Prime idea, a true hybrid formula between science and beauty.

New Transparent Finishing Powder and Line Filler are our lightest yet, in fact invisible when applied, but their silky colourless polymers set and stabilize makeup instantly. The only way to start when you sit down in front of the mirror. Prep + Prime Skin Refined Zone is your stay-put fit on skin that minimizes the appearance of pores without clogging, and visibly diminishes them over time. Two Lipsticks, Eye Shadows, Penultimate Eye Liner and Eye Brows in an essential palette are a habit to happily acquire – Colour Ready is as basic as your 4-inch heel Louboutins.

Tricolour Lipglass is like a mille feuille of layered lip gloss colours, each gives way to the next in a triple-layered pearl-swirl of prettiness; add extra-yum to Eye Shadow; Perfect Topping Mineralize Skinfinish is the ultimate cake walk. We could eat you up.

MAC Grand Duos

Introducing MAC Spring collection: MAC Grand Duos: Grand Duos splits MAC’s popular Mineralize Blushes in two: one side is marbleized with tri-colour veining to enhance and glorify cheekbones and the other, a complimentary mono shade to add a pop of colour. A soft, shimmery pearl on both sides gives skin a subtle glow. MAC Grand Duos will be available starting in March 12, 2009 for a limited time.

MAC Grand Duos: Mineralization has swept the Beauty Nation but MAC makes the next move with Grand
Duos: Mineralize Blush that has a marbleized mélange on one side, and a complementary mono-shade on the other.

Soft-shimmer super-shine pearl in a pretty tricolour veining to enhance and glorify cheekbones, followed with the pop and dimension of solid colour shimmer without an overly frosted look. The 188 Small Duo Fibre Face Brush makes the transition magnificent. A sophisticated but simple new way to get your vital minerals.

“Elegance is refusal.”-Diana Vreeland. This simple quote perfectly summed up the L’Wren Scott Fall 2009 show, for which Aaron De Mey, Lancôme’s artistic director for makeup, was the lead artist. Instead of hundreds of guests, a jammed backstage and models wearing layers of bright clothes and accessories, everything was calm-and as chic as could be. Only a few dozen guests were invited to attend the show, held at the all-white Gagosian Gallery in New York’s Chelsea art district. The atmosphere, and the clothes, were all about a sultry minimalism, sexy rather than spartan.

And, here is a recap:

According to Lauara Mercier, Global Makeup Artist, Tayaba Jafri, key inspiration for the makeup look at Pamella Roland was the gold of a Faberge egg. Eyes are gold leafed encased in a very dark eyeliner. Tabya’s favorite products for the show is a Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Liner  which is a cream liner which is extreme;y versatile. “I can’t do makeup without it.” Tabaya told me.

Another one pf her favorite products is Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc in Golden Mosaic, because it allows you to create a lot of texture in the eyes, and luminosity to the cheeks.

Terri Seymour Makeup Tutorial

Terri Seymour was co-hosting a charity event Thursday night in LA and is photographed here with her ex boyfriend Simon Cowell.

Living in the U.K. made me get to know many British Celebs and one of them is the beautiful, Terri Seymour. She is making waves here in the U.S. as a reporter on entertainment news show EXTRA and American Idol correspondent for FOX 11 in Los Angeles.

Thanks to Talking Makeup’s Celebrity Makeup Artist contributor, Melissa Walsh, we have the how-to steps to get Terri Seymour’s makeup look.

Face: “I started with Hourglass Fluid Veil, then smoothed Smashbox Photo-OP Undereye Brightener under the eyes and on the cheekbones for a glowing effect.”

Eyes: “I then lightly dusted Hourglass Invisible Veil all over and Benefit Powderflage under the eyes.

Her eyes were made up with a combination of Urban Decay’s new cream eyeshadows (which I love!) in Rehab and Delinquent and then I lined the eyes, top and bottom with Sue Devitt Studio eye pencil in Ava and deepened it with Bourjois eyeshadow in Noir Precieux.

Nicolas Degennes Givenchy’s Le Makeup Artistic Director Interview with Marta Walsh

I’m so excited to share with you my interview with Nicolas Degennes, Givenchy’s Le Makeup Artistic Director for Beauty Interviews. Here it is:

Nicolas Degennes is Givenchy’s Le Makeup Artistic Director. Nicolas is the brilliant mind behind Givenchy Spring 2009 Maharani Makeup Collection and of Givenchy’s many other beautiful makeup. I met Nicolas at a Givenchy breakfast in New York City and was absolutely mesmerized with his speech. Nicolas made me fall in love with Givenchy, makeup, beauty, and being a woman. I had to share my life changing experience meeting Nicolas with you.

Nicolas Degennes.

In this interview Nicolas Degennes takes us back to Paris at age 16 where the love for art and beauty began for him, his philosophy about makeup, memorable celebrity collaborations such as with Monica Bellucci, Kristin Scott Thomas and Liv Taylor. Some of the must-have Givenchy products in every woman’s makeup bag, and where he finds his biggest inspirations in life.

Givenchy Spring 2009 Maharani Makeup Collection.

Marta Walsh: When did your fascination with beauty begin?
Nicolas Degennes: My passion with makeup and the arts began when I was a child. I left Paris at the tender age of 16 to follow my dream to study the arts, music, theater and photography. While exploring my fascination with arts in a fresh and inspiring environment, I befriended a great makeup artist in New York who introduced me to the world of makeup. Beauty and makeup became my newfound passion, and I have been working in this field ever since.
