essie’s Summer 2010 Collection A palette of shades created to compliment the essence of summer
From The Expert:
“This year’s runways reflected the ease of the season with youthful, upbeat clothing in feminine fabrics,” explains Essie Weingarten, President and Founder of Essie Cosmetics, Ltd. “I was inspired by the vivid pastels at Versace and the splashy florals at DKNY. I created this collection to reflect the youthful, fun-to-wear flirty frocks.”
CND’s Hottest Manicure Trends For Fall
CND introduces Fall’s limited edition Colour & Effect: “Texture adds to the strength of the look – and autumn is all about dimensional manicures,” says CND Co-founder Jan Arnold. Nails take their cue from striking blue-greens, effervescent reds, and offbeat beige, camels and grays this season.
Steely Dan: Extravagant midnight manicures and tonal shades of heathered mushroom and gray nails complement this Fall’s masculine palette of mossy greens, black leather and textured fabrics. To achieve Ruffian’s (seen in image above) “Lunar Eclipse” manicure, pair deep blue Inkwell with Gold Chrome around the cuticle edge for a metropolitan look.
ORLY Nail Lacquers Spring 2010
I’m loving the latest ORLY Nail Lacquers Collection which complements Spring 2010 color Trends.
The hottest colors for the upcoming Spring/Summer season according to the Spring 2010 Fashion Preview: Pantone Color Report are:
Turquoise: Spring and summer naturally evoke feelings of calm ocean waters and tranquil beach vacations in cool, vibrant and tropical colors.

CND Desert Suede and Putty Nail Polish
Nail Trends: French Nude Colony by CND: While the runways have been filled with prim clothing, nails are going nudist! Not bare-naked, but perfected flesh tones. At Sonia Rykiel, CND used warm, opaque neutral Desert Suede for a creamy finish. At Giambattista Valli and Jasmine di Milo, CND used semi-sheer neutral Putty for gorgeous, chic manicures.

Bold blue eyes, copper lips, matte skin, bare cheeks and neutral nails ruled the catwalk at Capitale on Tuesday, February 16th, 2010.

Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux lead a team of 15 artists to create the stunning look on 22 models – While famed manicurist Jin Soon Choi and her team polished their nails with a new color that was tested backstage!

“When Derek showed me the fabrics that inspired his Fall 2010 collection – bold and muted tones mixed with earthy pigments including terracotta, greens and browns – I thought the makeup shades should be complimentary. So we chose a blend of bold blue shadows on the eyes, shimmering copper lips and flawless, matte skin created with a light foundation — an on-trend beauty preview of what we will see for Fall 2010.” Tom Pecheux, Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director.
Lancôme & Victoria Beckham Fall 2010
Victoria Beckham received rave reviews today for the gorgeous collection of dresses she showed yesterday, February 16, 2010, and the makeup was equally praise worthy. Victoria wanted minimal makeup, but with maximum impact. The result: nude lips, silvery eyes and shimmery skin.
Makeup Tutorial: For the makeup, Francelle did a modern take on 1930’s Hollywood glamour (in keeping with Victoria’s “Dick Tracy” inspiration for the clothes) so she paired a metallic eye with a pale, nude lip. First, Francelle swept Color Design Eyeshadow in Optic on the entire lid to the brow bone and added Color Design Eyeshadow in Crème Lustré to the lower lid. Ombre Magnetique in Silver (coming this fall 2010!) was used in the crease for a shiny, metallic finish. The new Hypnôse Drama Mascara coated the top lashes only. The skin was dusted with Ageless Minérale Powder in Translucent for a luminous complexion. Blush Subtil in Miel Glace was applied lightly to the cheekbones for an added touch of color. For the lips, Francelle first dotted them with concealer (a great trick for ensuring you get a super nude pout with staying power) then applied L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick in Rich Cashmere. The nails were short and groomed with just clear nail polish and the hair, by Didier Malige, was pulled back in messy version of a French twist.
