Anyone interested in the modeling world and fashion should watch This Model Life documentary series, first aired on channel 4 in the UK back in 2003. The documentary follows several models amongst them Erin O’Connor who at age 24 was already a fashion world icon, as she travels to Paris for the prestigious couture fittings and rehearsals.

Standing 6″5 in heels, Erin has been described as a ‘freak of nature’ but to designers like Jean Paul Gaultier and Valentino she is the ultimate muse. Daphene Selfe who at age 70 at the time was probably the oldest fashion model in the world. See loves, put any beauty and age-ism rules you might have in the garbage and open your mind to a world of possibilities. You will feel liberated. Other models featured in This Model Life include: Ruth Crilly and Anna Donne. The show is timeless and depicts a very realistic view of what’s it like to be a model and survive the ever evolving fashion world.

The 2010 Met Gala is the Oscars of fashion and the perfect place for four Estée Lauder models to be as the brand once again redefines American and Global beauty. Veterans Hilary Rhoda and Carolyn Murphy, and new faces Constance Jablonski and Liu Wen all define beauty in their own unique way, and looked breathtaking as they walked the red carpet.

Super stylist Mary Alice Stephenson styled Hilary Rhoda, Constance Jablonski and Liu Wen in a suite at NYC’s Surrey Hotel, where Estée Lauder Global Makeup Stylist Rick DiCecca applied stunning makeup looks on both Constance and Liu Wen.

Hilary Rhoda’s makeup was done by Kaoru Okubo and hair by Rudi Lewis.

Gossip Girl star, Leighton Meester, has recently spotted shopping at Chicago’s premier shopping destination, Sofia Vintage at 1165 North Clark Street. Leighton was in town for her performance at The Underground and was dressed head to toe in Sofia Vintage’s finest fashions for the red carpet including a sexy long sleeve open back, black lace top with trendy olive colored trousers.

In this interview Ashley Zisook talks to Marta Walsh about her love for fashion and the creation of Sofia Vintage. Her meeting with Leighton Meester. How she makes her partnership with sister Allison work. Personal style and philosophy about life. 

Marta Walsh: When did you first become interested in fashion?
Ashley Zisook: I have always been into fashion… however, I never really thought it would be my career. I was in the music industry in Los Angeles and I felt I needed more creativity in my life so I enrolled in FIDM and started “The Piece” with 2 of my college friends from Boulder. The Piece was a once a month vintage sale for ladies we would do in our backyard–each month it would keep getting bigger! When I was moving back to Chicago I knew I wanted to continue doing something like The Piece, but on a much bigger scale—I wanted to offer Chicago a different type of shopping experience that hadn’t ever been done before.
