The inspiration behind Heidi Klum’s Oscar beauty look began with her Roland Mouret gown. The graphic silhouette and bold red color of the dress required a softer, natural face to compliment the design rather than compete with it.

Make-up artist Linda Hay wanted to bring out on Heidi’s dramatic eyes and also incorporate the powder pink color of the coral and diamond Lorraine Schwartz jewelry on the lips and cheeks. Linda sought to create a look that was light and dewy while still modern and sexy.

Christina recommends beginning by lightly evening your complexion using the Jouer luminizing moisture tint followed by the Jouer age-repairing brightner where necessary, around the eyes, the nose and the corners of the mouth, follow by a light dusting of the Jouer mineral face powder. Christina then recommends applying a light peach or pink blush to the apple of the cheek for a fresh, youthful glow.

TREND: Smoky eyes. Inspiration: The collection took inspiration from the 1940’s, reflecting the surrealist images of photographer Lee Miller. Combined with a bit of 80’s rock and roll glam, makeup artist Diane Kendal created a strong look without being too girly.
Look: “The look is all about the eyes with soft matte lips for contrast,” said Diane Kendal. To bring strength to the face, Diane focused on creating smoky eyes and full brows, while downplaying the lips and keeping skin fresh with a light brushing of blush for a healthy glow.

Print eye shadow – gently applied over gray shadow to ad a blue tint. Blacktrack Fluidline – lining the top lashline and slightly extended past the outer corner of the eyes. Another thin black line was created by folowing the arch of the brow bone above the crease of the lid, and another folowing the lower lashline under the eyes.
