MAC Dame Edna Makeup Collection is a new makeup collection by Mac Cosmetics:
“Hello possums!” Dame Edna Everage is in the house! With her zesty zingers, cutting-edge appearance – lilac hair (which is completely natural), rhinestone-encrusted face furniture, fanciful frocks – frankly; there’s nothing like a Dame! Dame Edna is the resident muse for our spectacular post-holiday makeup collection,
and modestly describes herself as “probably the most popular and gifted woman in the world today: housewife, investigative journalist, social anthropologist, talk-show host, swami, children’s book illustrator, spin doctor, megastar, and Icon.”
With packaging as mirthful and minx-like as The Legend herself, the Dame Collection of heavy-on-the-lilac Lipstick/Lipglass, eye shadow, Highlight powder and nail lacquers is in a class by itself! “Follow my beauty regime possums, and you’ll never be cosmetically challenged”- Dame Edna.

Kate Hudson on the Cover of Harper’s Bazaar January 2008 Edition
Kate Hudson is on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar January 2008 edition!
Kate Hudson is looking very model thin on this cover (real or photoshopped, you decide, hehe).
Let’s talk about Kate Hudson’s hair and makeup look on the cover of the 2009 UK Harper’s Bazaar cover : soft smoky eyes achieved by a black purple eye liner (try MAC Cosmetics Eye Liner in Black Raven). Flawless complexion, and very natural lips, I’m not even sure Kate Hudson is wearing any lipstick or a lip gloss! Cheeks are accented softly with a neutral tone.
Kate Hudson’s hair is on the short side, just a little bit over her shoulders. Looks like short hair is in girls!
All in all, Kate Hudson is looking very pretty and very chic.
What do you think, is Kate Hudson’s looks are 100% real on this cover or she is slightly photoshopped?

Marta Walsh Interviews Patricia Kara from Deal or NO Deal
Couple of months ago, I had an amazing opportunity to interview the beautiful Patrica Kara for Beauty Interviews.
Patricia Kara is an actress, model, and a TV personality best known as Deal or No Deal’s #9. Patricia along with Tameka Jacobs, were the only ones chosen to be on the new Daytime Deal or No Deal with Howie Mandel, which premiered in September 2008. In addition, Patricia has appeared in over 20 television programs, such as, E! Entertainment’s Wild On, Extra, and the Golden Globes.
Read my interview with Patricia Kara where we chat about her love for hosting TV shows, how Deal or No deal revolutionized her career, beauty secrets, her upcoming calendar, and plans for the future.
Why have you decided on a career in hosting and reporting?
I started out with modeling about twenty years ago back in Chicago. That led me to Florida and New York. When I was in New York my modeling agency started to send me out to auditions for hosting and acting. I started booking jobs here and there. One job led to the next job. Then I moved to LA and kept working. And I love it! Anytime I can talk and get paid for it to, is just great. I find my job real easy, it is what I love to do. With hosting I get to try new and different things, depending on what I’m hosting about, and being part of them in a way most people don’t get to do. For example, if I do a show about wake boarding, I’ll try wake boarding. I’ve done a fishing show. I’ve also hosted a lot of sporting events, such as Kentucky Derby.
MAC Cosmetics Provides Makeup Artistry for Twilight The Movie
MAC Cosmetics provides artistry and product support to numerous films, television shows, theatrical productions and performances around the world. In addition to supporting such shows as Mad Men, Gossip Girl and Ugly Betty, MAC is also the official makeup of Cirque du Soleil.
One of the latest projects is the film production of Twilight, the highly anticipated, #1 New York Times Bestselling book by Stephenie Meyer brought to life. With over 17 million books in print, these books are a cultural phenomenon.
The movie Twilight, is scheduled to premiere in November 21, 2008.
Below is an interview with Makeup Department Head Jeanne Van Phue with some insight into the makeup direction of the movie.
Q: What was the process for creating the various characters’ looks?
A: Katherine Hardwicke, the director, and I have previously worked together on a movie called “Lords of Dogtown,” so we know each other very well. I began by preparing sketches of my vision, keeping in mind the descriptions Stephanie Myers (Twilight’s Author) set forth in the books.
Bella’s (Kristen Stewart’s character) description in the novel is very pale and extremely beautiful with large chocolate brown eyes, so she wore colored lenses every day. I also pictured her as a natural beauty, which is exactly what Kristen is. I used a light hand while applying all neutral colors to make her look as though she had no makeup on.
Edward’s (Robert Pattinson’s character) description in the novel is impossibly handsome almost god-like. His skin is marble-pale, hard as stone and ice cold, but perfect and flawless. Edwards’ eyes are described as topaz colored when he is normal and black like onyx, when hungry.
