Lil Mama at BET Awards 2009: Get The Look

Marta probably would look like a little sheep if she did her hair like Lil Mama at BET Awards 2009. However, I’m sure some of you can pull off this dramatic hairdo because you CAN! I’m SO jealous:)

Celebrity hairdresser Marcia Hamilton created a fun, fresh look for rapper Lil Mama at this years’ 2009 BET Awards in Los Angeles. To copy her red carpet style:

1. Part a heavy fringe from eyebrow to eyebrow.
2. Brush all remaining hair up and to the side, above the left eyebrow.
 3. Use a Goody Elastic Band to hold hair and sweep into a side ponytail. Spray hair with David Babaii for WildAid Mise En Plis Light Hold Hairspray to smooth down fly-aways.

4. For extra volume, wrap a human hair weft around the ponytail and secure with a bobby pin.
5. For smooth curls and waves in the ponytail, use H2pro’s HC34 3/4² Ceramic Curling Iron. Taking 1 inch sections, mist with a thermal protection spray like White Sands Liquid Texture Medium Hold and wrap around a closed iron for perfectly polished curls.

Richard Ward Summer 09 Hair Trends

Richard says there’s a soft austerity for Spring Summer 09:

The Cruise Cut is here. Hair this season is sporty, understated yet confidant, sleek, healthy and ultra-groomed. But this look is also organic and natural. These are statement cuts; preened and perfected, and glossy with health and vibrant and rich with shimmering colour. Feminine and versatile, yet light on product, this is a styled look – with natural movement and refined texture.”

Short hair will be the massive look for 2009, reflecting the challenging economy and the new, more austere climate of the year. There are 2 key looks:

The choppy, textured crop is the ultimate in gamine: As worn by: Victoria Beckham.

An updated 80’s Pixie look, worn layered short all over, hair is cropped short at the nape and around the ears and textured throughout. Product use is light, giving a soft, natural effect – Richard Ward Style Revive Smoothing Polish (£5.49) is perfect; apply by rubbing though palms to warm and patting evenly on to the hair to separate and define.

Long sweeping layers worn with asymmetric fringes over one eye and undercut at the nape and sides: As worn by: Rhianna.

Blake Lively & Evan Rachel Wood:Summer Beauties

Blake Lively is looking effortlessly beautiful at the Swarovski Crystallized Concept store opening in New York City on Thursday (June 25). Blake’s look is also perfect for the summer: blonde highlights-check. Light makeup-check. Tousled wavy hair and not overly straightened-check.

Evan Rachel Wood also attended Swarovski Crystallized Concept store opening in New York City on Thursday (June 25) and passed Talking Makeup’s summer beauty test. Here is why & how: Rachel’s hair is pulled up in the back and is left almost undone for a relaxed summer look. Humidity and heat levels rise in the summer, so it’s OK to pull your hair up for a cool, ‘not trying too hard’ chic look.
