Sienna Miller at the 2010 MET Ball

Sienna Miller was wearing CHANEL Beauté at the 2010 Costume Institute Gala, Monday, May 3, 2010, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art New York, NY. Makeup Artist Kate Lee created Sienna’s makeup look for CHANEL. Beauty Inspiration: “Sienna wore a beautiful navy blue dress. We were channeling Brigitte Bardot and decided to do a 60’s influenced eye. I used navy colours to make it a little more modern.”

Beauty Tip: Makeup Tutorial

Kate prepped Sienna’s skin with CHANEL Hydramax + Active Cream. She used CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Marine by wetting the tip then filling in the upper lids to form the base and depth of Sienna’s 60’s ink pot eyes.

NARS Insider Makeup Tips From Marcel

It’s SHOWTIME with Marcel…Always put your best face forward. NARSISSISM #4-Marcel says: “Matte skin always looks beautiful and clean. After foundation, apply a translucent loose powder with a powder puff and buff away any excess with a large, soft brush. This will create a luminous, satin finish rather than a dry, powdery surface.”

Stay tuned for the final Marcel Narsissism, coming within the next few days! Can’t wait? Head to NARS Facebook page or follow them on Twitter for more exclusive Marcel quotes and photos.

Smokey Eyes Makeup Tutorial

Talking Makeup is pleased to present a Smokey Eyes makeup tutorial by the lovely Lois Price who is a student at Staffordshire University in England. I love my UK friends, you know:)

WATCH: Lois giving you tips on how to create a smokey eye look without breaking the bank! “Have fun with it and create similar looks!!” says Lois.

1. Firstly moisture your face and allow it to soak in, then apply a thin layer of foundation onto your face including eye lids- this will help the eye shadow stick and stay on longer

2. Apply a line of eyeliner to the bottom of your eyes to create definition.

3. Next apply the grey shadow to your eyelids- apply as much as you want.

NARS Insider Tips From Marcel

Bringing you another très chic skin-saving technique from NARS’ very own Marcel (it’s the cutest dog seen in image below).

Marcel says: “Everyone wants a dewy complexion. But there’s a fine line between a dewy glow and greasy skin. Keep your face hydrated without looking oily by blotting with a tissue to remove excess cream or moisturizer.”

Carolina Herrera Collection Fall 2010

New York Fashion Week. Carolina Herrera Fall 2010. Hair by Orlando Pita @ ORLO using Moroccanoil. Master stylist Orlando Pita creates a sophisticated look that displays the instinctive elegance and modern strength of long, luxurious hair. The look emphasizes smooth, clean lines refined by the feminine allure of silky, lustrous hair. Beautifully polished strands are center parted and placed sculpturally behind the ear and flow down the back to counterpoint the varied, refined textures of the designs.

There is an alluring confidence in the women who inspired the Fall, 2010 Carolina Herrera collection. A sophisticated feminine attitude and striking details reveal an integrity to luxury. Portraits printed on silk and realized only with a closer look, embroideries have a frenetic etched quality; stones lose their reflection when covered in felt. Shades of camel are injected with Prussian blue, deep red and okra floral print. Proportion is created with volume added to the forearms of sleeves and bell shaped skirts on dresses and coats. Degradé Prince of Wales and mohair windowpane wool inject masculine charm. For evening, fluid ruffles and sculpted pleats wrap around a more constructed form; instinctive elegance.

An achromatic palette is energized by flashes of neon brights, blurring the lines between sophistication and urban edge. Cross-laced panels, textured prints and enameled surfaces highlight the aerodynamic shape of the female form. Her second-skin armor gives her the confidence to stand tall in the face of the future. BTW The Herve Leger dresses are SO Marta:)

The hairstyle and inspiration: A focus on texture underlines this ethereal hair look. A closer glance reveals the absolute essential required for this courageous look. Hair in superb condition, healthy, strong and vital, with natural-shine that emanates from each strand. “It’s a different, very natural take on straight texture,” says Orlando, “one with a airiness, almost a wispiness, especially when the model walks the runway.”
