MAC A Rose Romance
MAC A Rose Romance will be available for a limited time starting April 23, 2009: Suggesting sonnets celebrated for centuries: Come into my garden, I would like my roses to see you!” poet Sir Richard Brinsley Sheridan once said, and what lady could resist such flattery?
A tradition in haute-couture, an enduring Icon of Love and certainly the only flower acceptable to throw on stage at the Met or clench between teeth in a Buenos Aires tango salon, the rose remains beyond reproach. M·A·C creates a very modern Rose Romance, our lovely new colour collection for the summer season. Spring buds blush in fragrant new hues when Just A Pinch Gel Blush debuts; Fix + Rose refreshes; and our bring-back favourite fragrance, Creations Hue: Dejarose, whispers anew… But with great beauty there is always pass ion and peril… mind the thorns!

MAC Prep + Prime Line Filler, Skin Refined Zone & Transparent Finishing Powder Q&A with Gordon Espinet Vice President Global Makeup Artistry, M·A·C Worldwide.
Q: What are the benefits of using makeup primer?
Using a makeup primer helps to perfect skins appearance as well as ease makeup application. It’s about using the best technology available to give the consumer the results they want, but without the a heavy makeup look. They want a visually perfect editorial finish without the use of additional colour products. At M·A·C, we are extremely focused on our artistry but are still very technology-driven. That is what the Prep + Prime Collection helps to do, in part by decreasing the need for additional color resulting in a more natural effect.

Backstage at Tory Burch Fashion Show
New York Fashion Week Fall 2009: I was supposed to cover backstage at Tory Burch fashion show during New York Fashion week last week, and for some reason I arrived when the show actually began. I have lots of great show coverage but missed the backstage hair & makeup look. Thanks to Daily Makeover Editors Rachel Hayes and Megan McIntyre, I have the scoop for you!
Tory Burch Goes For Bedroom Beauty: “This is a very sexy, gorgeous look,” says makeup artist Diane Kendal for MAC. She used a combination of black and gold shadows to create a sultry, smoky eye. “We didn’t use any mascara which gives it an edgier look,” she says. A hint of gold shimmer was also in the soft pink blush. “Gold is definitely a popular metallic accent for this season.” Lips were neutral and glossy thanks to MAC Cremesheen Glass in Boy Bai, a light, pearly beige.
Live From NY Fashion Week: Twinkle
Hey! I just wanted to let you all know I will be blogging from my Blackberry live from fashion week. You will have to excuse the bullet points writing and blurry pictures but this is the action as it is happening. I’ll have high res pictures and videos when I get back 🙂
My first show was Twinkle.
Mac makeup inspiration: Is 1950’s, a girl going out on a date for the first time. Sexy kitten eyes not like her mother, which are bolder cat eyes. Lips are red orange, which is lighter, softer, fresher with MAC Lipstick in Lady Danger (vivid coral-red). Complexion is flawless, using just a concealer.
Key stylist at Twinkle was John Ruidant for Redken. The hairstyle for the Twinkle show was inspired by 1950s Drive-In. John Ruidant’s favorite Redken haircare product for the show was Redken hot sets 22.
