Derek Lam Fall 2010 Fashion Show Hair by Moroccanoil

New York Fashion Week. Derek Lam Fall 2010 Fashion Show. Hair by Orlando Pita @ Orio for Moroccanoil.

The hairstyle and inspiration: A focus on texture underlines this ethereal hair look. A closer glance reveals the absolute essential required for this courageous look. Hair in superb condition, healthy, strong and vital, with natural-shine that emanates from each strand. “It’s a different, very natural take on straight texture,” says Orlando, “one with a airiness, almost a wispiness, especially when the model walks the runway.”

L.A.M.B Fall/Winter 2010 Collection Hair by Moroccanoil

New York Fashion Week. Backstage at L.A.M.B by Gwen Stefani Fall/Winter 2010 hairstyle created by Danilo with Moroccanoil. The Look and Inspiration: Definitely modern. A glance back to the 30’s and 40’s with an eye toward the future. Glistening Bangs. The graceful ease of Curled Waves. Long hair flowing, or strengthened and rolled up to chin and shoulder lengths. The sweet power of high-shine and beautiful healthy-looking hair.

To create the dramatic, eye-catching hair designs for the L.A.M.B. Fall/Winter 2010 Collection master stylist Danilo used a combination of techniques and emphasized smooth waved curls with a very modern, beautifully luminous shine. Professional argan oil-infused Moroccanoil products were layered to achieve the silky texture, refined shine, and provide free-flowing, moveable hold.

New York Fashion Week Fall 2010 Designer Inspirations and Sketches

Rebecca Taylor

The fall 2010 collection was inspired by a mixture of 70’s Parisian attitude and an urban New York City girl. With a renewed love for classic sportswear, silhouettes have been re-worked with a twist to give subtle edge on signature feminine designs. The palette includes dusty hues and new neutrals contrasted with military olives and hints of old gold. Fabrics are washed to provide a worn, overly-loved appeal and are combined with cashmere wool suits, leopard faux furs and down quilted coats, together giving this collection an affordable luxe quality.

MAC Makeup Trends

This Fall/Winter 2010 season marked the 15th Anniversary of MAC Cosmetics involvement in New York Fashion Week and their impact in London, Paris and Milan was bigger than ever before! MAC Cosmetics supported nearly 200 shows during the Fall/Winter 2010 Collections. MAC continued as the official sponsor of London Fashion week, had a strong presence in Milan and Paris, and hosted shows, events and presentations at MAC & Milk and throughout New York.

Fall/Winter 2010 was an inventive and inspiring season for beauty. This season, Makeup Artists asked the question: “What is luxurious makeup?” The answer was not opulence, but, rather, a sense of individual enhancement based in reality. Lyne Desnoyers, Director of Makeup Artistry for MAC, called it “flirting with luxury on a contemporary face.”

MAC Makeup Trends: A few memorable MAC products that created the latest trends include

MAC Opulash Mascara: This new mascara with a supersized brush produced plush, extravagant lashes on the runway. Adding dramatic volume and curl, it formed lush lashes – bigger, badder, more opulent eyes. Opulash was key in such shows as DSquared2, Blumarine, Max Mara and Chado Ralph Rucci.

MAC Prolongwear SPF 10 Foundation: Creamy and lightweight, this yet-to-be-introduced foundation was a hit! Providing ample playtime and easy blending, it also demonstrated 15-hours of wearability and garnered raves backstage at Chado Ralph Rucci, PORTS 1961 and Timo Weiland.

Betsey Johnson Fall 2010 Hair by Sebastian Professional

New York Fashion Week. Show: Betsey Johnson Fall 2010. Hair by Sebastian Professional.

Inspiration: Betsey Johnson’s Fall 2010 beauty look was inspired by the sexy, superstar actresses in the cowgirl “French” western film, Las Petroleras (1971). Betsey’s own gang of bad girls channel Brigitte Bardot’s lust for adventure, exhibiting unassuming sexiness that’s as captivating as it is liberating.

Hair Tutorial:

For a windblown, cowgirl look that’s playful and sexy, Sebastian Professional lead stylist Thomas Dunkin suggests the following steps:

1. Generously spray Sebastian Professional Volupt Spray throughout damp hair for workable volume and texture.

Wella Color Extensions at Cynthia Rowley

New York Fashion Week Fall Winter 2010. Show: Cynthia Rowley. Hair by Wella Professionals. Hair Trend: Color Extensions.

Inspiration: Cynthia Rowley is known for her whimsical-yet-sophisticated aesthetic with a vintage-inspired slant. For Fall ’10, the collection feels more indie and tough, not ladylike. She takes classic, feminine wardrobe elements, like the dress and the elbow glove, but redefines them for the modern, tough girl. The clothing and accessories for Fall concentrate on volume, texture and movement, which is accomplished with lots of feathers, fringed leather, and silk fringe.
