DKNY Fall 2010 Hair by Wella

DKNY Fall 2010 – Hair by Wella’s Eugene Souleiman and Eva Scrivo.

The Look: A refined side-swept ponytail projects a sexy equestrian vibe with a subtly strong, yet not too masculine look. The ponytail’s length falls over the shoulder on the side where hair is parted, while just a few face framing layers are left to brush along on the opposite side of the face. The effortless elegance of this asymmetric look complements the proportions of any face because it offsets any imbalance of the facial structure.

Inspiration: The fall ’10 DKNY collection encapsulates NY art and soul, reflecting the convergence of creative worlds and individual style that is the spirit of New York City. The graphic, modern, and unique style resonates throughout the collection, including silhouettes as tall and lean as the skyline. A neutral palette of blacks, charcoal, umber, vicuna and oxblood is brightened with accents of bluebird, sapphire, peach, and oyster. Pieces are architecturally paneled with color, texture, and pattern, but maintain the versatility of the classic urban and sporty chic modernism befitting of NYC sophistication.

Versace Fall 2010 Milan: hair with Redken

Versace
Guido created a sexy, natural blow – an easy style for the modern looking Versace woman. “The style is ultra sexy but natural, like you can run your hands through it. Kind of a relaxed, style that doesn’t look too done, that gives an extra sense of lax sexiness to the Versace woman.” – Guido, Redken Creative Consultant

The AW ’10 Halston collection utilized classic draping techniques with linear modernity. When creating the hair look for the show, Eugene Souleiman drew inspiration from one of the four of Wella Trend Vision directions, Nature’s Goddess. EYES
Description: “Distinct luxurious, but not too heavy.”

Dick blended together the Accentuating Color Sticks in Bronze Flush (S1) and Glistening Flush (S3) to create a warm, bronzy shade; he then applied the color all over the eyelids.

Dick then brushed the Luminizing Satin Face Color in High Beam Gold (BE206) over the eyelids to create a “halo” of color.

Next, Dick used a fluff brush to apply the dark-bronze shade from the Shiseido Makeup Luminizing Satin Eye Color Trio in Opera (GD804) along the upper lash line and up through the crease, following the natural eye shape. A large fluff brush was then used to diffuse the color.

Erin Fetherston Fall/Winter 2010 Makeup

WATCH: Marta Walsh interviews Makeup by MAC Cosmetics Lead Makeup Artist Lucia Pica backstage at Erin Fetherston Fall 2010 during New York Fashion Week.

The Inspiration: The designer wanted to have 70s gorgeous glowing skin but not too retro to keep it very natural, cool, young, and fresh. She looks like a girl who’s been running through the fields. Keeping the techniques and products very simple as if the look happened naturally in the fields, as if the makeup artist was not there. All the models have fringes/bangs which was inspired by Nico from The Velvet Underground.
