Heidi Klum Interviews With Marta Walsh
Last year or so, I was given an incredible chance to ask Heidi Klum some questions on her red carpet beauty secrets and Victoria’s Secret Beauty and makeup. I thought to share!
Marta Walsh: How do you decide on a hair style for the red carpet?
Heidi Klum: The dress inspires everything. I’ll put on the dress the day of the event and we’ll collaborate on what kind of hair and makeup will look best.
MW: In what way is red carpet makeup different than any other day or event?
HK: Red carpet beauty prep is a little different because you usually have more time to get ready and it HK: becomes a fun, girly event. We joke around and sip a little champagne. It’s really fun and festive. And, red carpet makeup can be a little bolder and more adventurous when you’re wearing a dramatic evening gown.
MW: Is there any beauty do’s or don’t’s before the big red carpet day?
HK: I try to live a healthy balanced life always, so I don’t do anything different before the big day. I think you get into trouble if you’re experimenting with crazy or drastic beauty treatments the day before!
But, I do like to have sun-kissed skin for the red carpet, so I apply Bare Bronze Gleaming Self Tan Tint mixed with Bare Bronze Daily Glow Moisturizer the day before. Top with a little Sexy Little Things Shimmer Powder and you’re glowing for the red carpet!

His collection featured animalistic themed reds and oranges and deep oceanic blues with models thriving in Victoria’s Secret Beauty’s new on-trend makeup collection, VS Makeup. Alessandra Ambrosio joined Victoria’s Secret Beauty’s team of makeup artists backstage, bringing runway beauty to reality with VS Makeup and puckered up for the cameras with VS Makeup Lipgloss.

Victoria’s Secret Beauty was honored with a prestigious FiFi Award, considered the “Oscars” of the fragrance industry, at the 37th Annual Fragrance Foundation awards ceremony. Victoria’s Secret’s NOIR Eau de Parfum won Fragrance of the Year. This distinction, determined in part by the public, ranks NOIR among the
best fragrances in the U.S.

Victoria’s Secret Angel Miranda Kerr Brings Sexy To The Red Carpet…Make-up Style
Stepping out into a deconstructed-chic 1930’s vibe at the 2009 Metropolitan Museum’s Annual Costume Institute Gala, Miranda Kerr wanted her make-up to be sexy, trendy and evoke a modern twist.
“She wanted sultry, smokey and a sensational eyes” said Victoria’s Secret Make-up Artist Meredith Baraf.”
To get her look, Baraf used five simple tips anyone can do at home:
1. Prep: To begin, Baraf always preps the eye. Using products from the new VS Make-up PRO line
she applied VS PRO Lasting FX Eyeshadow Primer all over the lids and under the eye, helping to
create the base for a perfect, long-lasting, smooth eye.
2. Liner: Baraf used VS Make-up Eyeliner in Extreme Black. Applying it on both the upper and bottom
lash line. “The key to the smokey eye is to smudge, smudge, smudge, says Baraf.”
3. Eyeshadow: Baraf used VS Eyeshadow in Fierce and blended it in the crease of the eye as well as
VS Make-up in Champagne in the inner corners to make the eyes pop.

1. Use cleaning products that aren’t full of chemicals. A clean house should smell like nothing-not yucky chemicals scented like lemon or pine forest. Remember, you are inhaling all these products and the air in your house can become even more polluted than the air outside.
2. An easy one that’s often overlooked-recycle and buy recycled products!
3. Use a Kleen Kanteen or Sigg bottle for water instead of plastic bottled water. I bought a pitcher filter for drinking water at my house and I fill up my Kleen Kanteen when I leave the house.

Supermodel Heidi Klum and celebrity make-up artist Linda Hay, launched Victoria’s Secret Makeup Spring Look Kit and demonstrate how to get Heidi’s red carpet Oscar look for under $50.
Additionally, for this year’s Oscars, Heidi is wearing a red dress by Roland Mouret for Diet Coke’s Heart Truth campaign and has also designed the Best Actress Nominees gift for Victoria’s Secret. The gift includes a Vintage Victoria lingerie set with a diamond and pearl pin.
Christian Siriano Fashion Show: Get the Victoria Secret Makeup Look
Key Makeup Artist Polly Osmond for Created a Cleopatra-esqe Look for Christian Siriano’s Fall 2009 Runway Show.
According to Osmond, “The look was based on a modern take of an Egyptian feel. We used heavy golds and blacks. The eyes were lined underneath with VS Makeup Eyeliner in Black Velvet with a more square shape rather than cat like. On the top of eyelids we used a gold shadow (VS Makeup Silky Eyeshadow in Champagne). We highlighted the face using the champagne shadow and lightly contoured with the VS Makeup Goddess Bronzer. On the darker skins, we used the bronzer as the highlighter. Mascara was then applied to top lashes only. Lips were a heavy gold.
