Rihanna At The Dior Show In Paris

Rihanna was seen out for the Dior show in Paris few days ago dressed up in black in a very dramatic, some might even say an OTT outfit. I actually love Rihanna’s dress and would wear it myself. Hey, you are learning more about the Marta! I just love black, and I’m 5’2, so short dresses and skirts are my best friends. I also love fashion shows especially when they take place in the city of lights!  YES, I even would wear the hat.

This is a bit off topic, what is this rumor I hear Rihanna is now dating Justin Timberlake? WHAT!?

Fashion Designer Chris Benz Interviews With Marta Walsh

Last month, during my visit to New York City for Fashion Week I was given a great chance to interview fashion designer Chris Benz.

In this interview Chris talks to me about how he is relatively relaxed minutes before the debut of his Spring 2010 collection. The inspiration for his designs. Why fashion design was the right thing for him. His personal style. And future plans.

I can’t get over how nice and cool Chris Benz was to chat with, and how original his collection was!

Interview With Tayaba Zehra Jafri The Lead Makeup Artist For Laura Mercier

I met Tayaba Zehra Jafri the lead makeup artist for Laura Mercier backstage at the Pamella Roland Spring 2010 during New York Fashion Week last month. Tayaba was kind enough to give us a sneak peek to the makeup look and to some of her Laura Mercier must-have products she used on models at the Pamella Roland show.

The Show: Pamella Roland Spring 2010 Collection.
The Trend: A luxurious spring time look that is eye focused. There is definitely a strong amount  of smoky eye, but it is a smoldering smoke. A reminiscent of the cat eye bit a little softer.
The Inspiration: The luxury glam makeup of the 50’s and 60’s and the paintings of Georgia Totto O’Keeffe.

Tayaba touch up the lids with a highlight of a special product called the VIP to give a little texture. A little bit of corner lashes are added to lift up the eyes. And as the look is eye focused Tayaba kept the cheeks and lips subdued. On cheeks she used Second Skin Cheek Colour in Barely Pink by Laura Mercier. To highlight the cheeks she used Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer by Laura Mercier. To add intensity inside the lashes Tayaba applied Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Liner with a brush. On the lips: HydraTint SPF 15 by Laura Mercier was applied.

Show: Gucci Spring 2010 Collection
Lead Hair Stylist: International Creative Consultant Luigi Murenu for John Frieda
Hair Trend: slicked back ponytail

“It’s sharp, sleek, and super shiny,” hairstylist Luigi Murenu said. Murenu applied Kiehl’s Hair Gel to damp hair and then blow-dried it straight. He used a fine-tooth comb to make a deep side part and then slick it into a tight, low ponytail.

He flat ironed the tail and then smoothed over everything with John Frieda’s Frizz-Ease Thermal Protection Hair Serum. To finish off the ponytail, Murenu wrapped the base with S&M bondage tape.
