Blake Lively at the Emmy Awards 2009: Get The Look

Frederic Fekkai Celebrity Stylist Renato Campora tended to the tresses of Blake Lively for the 2009 Emmy Awards.

Inspiration: A goddess style updo inspired by the modernity and elegance of the red Versace gown.

How to get Blake Lively’s ponytail:

Renato Campora started out by applying Fekkai Coiff Strong Hold Volume Mousse onto wet hair. Next he blow-dried the hair smooth and applied the Fekkai Coiff Extra Control Styling Gel to prep the hair. He then teased all the hair and pulled it up into a high ponytail. By adding some hair extensions to the ponytail, he created extra length for a more dramatic look. Afterward, he braided the entire ponytail and fastened at the end. Campora finished by applying Fekkai Coiff Magnifique Ultra-Light Finishing Crème throughout the entire look for a smooth and sleek effect.

Fekkai at Proenza Schouler

New York Fashion Week Spring 2010 Report: Lead hair stylist Didier Malige for Frederic Fekkai styled the models at Proenza Schouler.

The look of Proenza Schouler:

Didier Malige, lead stylist for Frédéric Fekkai was inspired by the California surfer girl at the Proenza Schouler show. He created beachy, tousled waves by prepping hair with Fekkai Beachcomber Leave-in Conditioner and then spritzed hair with Fekkai Coiff Oceanique Tousled Wave Spray. He finished the look by pulling Fekkai Coiff Magnifique Ultra-Light Finishing Crème through the hair with his fingers. The result was natural, sexy and sun-kissed.

• Step 2: Brush hair through and create a deep side part.
• Step 3: Divide hair into three sections: bottom, sides/top and middle, and secure in place with hair clips. Spray each section generously with Aveda Air Control Hair Spray for shine and hold.

Sebastian Professional’s Perfect Pony at Michael Angel

New York Fashion Week Spring 2010 Report: Michael Angel spring ‘10 – September 10th Hair by Sebastian Professional

Inspiration: Taking inspiration from strong influential women like Nancy Cunard, Josephine Baker and Schiaparelli, Michael Angel directed a Spring ’10 beauty look that’s meant to replace the depressing, dark days of yore with a revived, empowered and reenergized youthfulness. A fresh, healthy “just come back from holiday” look subtly complements the collection’s energy-packed, color-rich and cool designs that Michael is famous for.

The Hair Look: To keep this ponytail from looking cold and severe, Sebastian Professional lead stylist Thomas Dunkin kept the crown soft and clean, allowing some of the hair’s natural texture free reign for a played-in feeling.

Here’s how to create your own perfect pony:

1) Apply Sebastian Professional Thickefy Foam to damp hair; blend evenly throughout
2) Blow hair out straight with a medium to large-sized round brush
3) Neatly brush hair back with a comb or flat brush and fasten with a hair tie just below eye level to avoid looking too “sporty”
4) Smooth the first half of the head with Shine Define for a shiny finish or apply Microweb Fiber to entice rogue wisps for a more lived-in look
5) Mist the length with Halo Mist and leave smooth and straight

Miranda Kerr’s Hairstyle: The Mixed Textured Chignon

Miranda Kerr’s hairstyle (in images below) reminds me of Kirsten Dunst’s hairstyle for the 2009 CFDA Fashion Awards. Kirsten’s hair was styled there by Pantene’s celebrity hairstylist, Hallie Bowman. I don’t normally wear my hair up, it’s a habit I find very difficult to break. But, I must say, I wouldn’t mind to wear my hair like this (if I ever get invited to a red carpet event…a gal can dream:) I’ve first learned about The Mixed Textured Chignon by Hallie, and Marta calls it: ‘The modern Chignon’. This is a great alternative to the classic Chignon. Not too many people look great with their hair pulled tight and away from face like in a classic Chignon. It can look a bit harsh. Thoughts?

How To Get Sienna Miller’s Hairstyle At The GI JOE Premiere

Adir Abergel for Frederic Fekkai styled Sienna Miller’s hair for the GI JOE: The Rise of Cobra premiere in Los Angeles.

Inspirarion: Adir wanted to create a modern day Veronica Lake look that had wonderful movement and softness with lots of shine and bounce.

To Get Sienna Miller’s Hairstyle: Adir started by creating a very strong side part. To form a perfect side part, follow the arch of the eyebrow to the back of the head.

Adir then applied FEKKAI ZERO-HUMIDITY FRIZZ CONTROL from the roots to ends; next he applied FEKKAI BOUFFANT only at the roots to add a little body. He then blow-dried the hair with a round brush to create the perfect texture.

Once the hair was completely dry, he took a 1 1/4 curling iron and curled her hair, and then pinned it in place. He did not curl the hair at the root, because he wanted the top of the hair to stay smooth, but wanted to give the rest of the hair body.

After curling, he then let the hair cool down for 10 min and took out the pins. He brushed out the curls with a FEKKAI CLASSIC BRUSH for the perfect smoothness, softness, and bounce.

Michelle Obama’s New Hair Cut

America’s first lady Michelle Obama is absolutely beautiful and graceful, imo. Recently she got a new hair cut and I”m curious to hear if you love it or not.

I personally love medium to long hairstyles, maybe because I know what’s works best for my face. I must say, however, Michelle Obama looks even more elegant with her new hair cut. Now, all we need to do is find out who’s her hair stylist!
