Top celebrity hair stylist Robert Vetica, who styled Marion Cotillard’s hair for her La Vie En Rose Best Actress Oscar win last year, created a flawless, dramatic look that worked to perfection with the elegant John Galliano for Christian Dior gown that she wore.

Vetica created a shimmering, ultra modern take on the French Twist, that was inspired by Cecil Beaton’s portraits of the great fashion and society icons of the 40’s and 50’s. Polished and styled close to the head, the French Twist was rolled large and emphasized volume for a contemporary edge.
To create the beautifully sculptured French Twist, Vetica first blow-dried Marion Cotillard’s hair with a round brush using Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream (MSRP: $30.00 / 10.2 fl. oz.) to smooth, detangle strands and to prevent frizz, and created a low side part. He then teased the hair all over with added attention to the crown and the back of the head.

Kate Winslet looked beautiful in a multi-toned one shoulder YSL dress. Celebrity makeup artist Jillian Dempsey wanted to create a classic, natural look.
First, Jillian Dempsey prepped Kate’s skin with Lancôme La Base Pro primer to create a smooth canvas for a polished complexion. She lightly brushed Lancôme Brow Expert in Naturel on the brows to play up their natural shape. Jillian Dempsey for Avon Pro Eyeshadow Trio in Ice Shimmer was applied to the eyes and the lashes were coated with Jillian Dempsey for Avon Pro Mascara in Black. To create a sheer, neutral colored lip, Lancôme Color Fever Lipstick in Old Flame was applied for a soft, matte finish.

Anne Hathaway looked regal in a sparkling jewel encrusted Armani Privé gown. Her makeup look was sophisticated and elegant.

Make-up artist Linda Hay wanted to bring out on Heidi’s dramatic eyes and also incorporate the powder pink color of the coral and diamond Lorraine Schwartz jewelry on the lips and cheeks. Linda sought to create a look that was light and dewy while still modern and sexy.

TREND: Smoky eyes. Inspiration: The collection took inspiration from the 1940’s, reflecting the surrealist images of photographer Lee Miller. Combined with a bit of 80’s rock and roll glam, makeup artist Diane Kendal created a strong look without being too girly.
Look: “The look is all about the eyes with soft matte lips for contrast,” said Diane Kendal. To bring strength to the face, Diane focused on creating smoky eyes and full brows, while downplaying the lips and keeping skin fresh with a light brushing of blush for a healthy glow.
