How To Make Your Salon Treatments Last

Want to get the most out of your professional primping during these economic times? Well, stretch your dollars by stretching the weeks between your salon visits. Renowned Italian hairstylist, Riccardo Maggiore of Riccardo Maggiore Salon in New York City, suggests trying these at-home maintenance tricks.

Haircut: Visit an experienced stylist and get a precise cut. If you have short hair, which often requires monthly appointments, go with a style that grows out well. After a haircut, keep your ends hydrated by using a daily leave-in conditioner. If ends look frizzy some days, work in a small amount of shine-enhancing oil to smooth them.

Sienna Miller’s Hair MTV Movie Awards 2009

Frederic Fekkai’s Adir Abergel, tended the tresses of Sienna Miller for MTV Movie Awards 2009.

Sienna Miller, btw, was Marta’s favorite on the red carpet last night at MTV Movie Awards! Sienna was the best dressed and styled. I loved her green short dress which looked a bit 1960’s retro to me. When I think of the ultimate rock chic girl, I think Sienna Miller!

Love Sienna Miller’s hair and naturally tousled waves at MTV Movie Awards 2009?  Here is how to get Sienna’s look, thanks to Frederick Fekkai:

Adir started out with the Fekkai marine hair zero-humidity frizz control to block humidity while sealing in hydration to keep sleek for all-day frizz & flyaway protection. He then added the fekkai coif bouffant lifting & texturizing spray gel at the roots to add lift and volume.

Rihanna’s Hair Raising Style: How To Get The Look

Rihanna’s hair is rising and reaching new heights. In fact Rihanna’s hair raising hairstyle was seen in some variations on the runway during New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2009.

According to Redken, Height Of Fashion, is one of the big hair trends seen on the runway during New Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2009 on shows, such as: Jean Paul Gaultier.

Height Of Fashion means extreme lift and volume for bold style and exaggerated fullness. Fortunately, adapting these looks for everyday is simple, just turn down the volume.

Blake Lively Is A Summer Beauty

Blake Lively is a summer beauty because Blake’s hair is blown straight but not overly done. Hair is still moving with soft waves and appears almost slept in. Sometimes even my hair looks better the day after I washed and styled  it! (Does this sound familiar?:)

Blake Lively’s hairstyle is perfect for the upcoming summer season. It takes less time to style yet looks super glamorous!

Leighton Meester’s Hair Parted In The Middle

Leighton Meester showed up to the CW Network 2009 UpFront party this week with a hairstyle that I love, hair parted in the middle.

I can’t get over Leighton Meester’s stunning looks and million dollar smile! Maybe it’s Leighton, or maybe it’s that part in the middle?:)

Parting your hair in a middle can add an instant glamour and youthfulness to your look. Victoria Secret’s models’ hair is often parted in the middle.

You can create a perfect and super symmetric middle parting line, or a bit off side for a more relaxed look, just like Leighton Meester.

Hair Trends With Redken Fall/Winter 2009: New Classics

Hair Trends With Redken Fall/Winter 2009 according to Guido, Redken Creative Consultant:

A Strong Presence: “This season, it’s all about the ‘do’…hairstyles that have a strong presence, that push the boundaries. These kind of looks are dependent on the use-and in many cases the overuse-of hair products.”

A Positive Force: “Hair now is a reaction to the times we’re living in. It’s strong, positive and forceful-it’s empowering to women.”

A Way To Update And Adapt: “We’ve taken looks from the 40s, 50s, and 80s and updated them with new elements. Women can adapt these looks for everyday by toning down a bit. If a look has extreme shine, use a little less shine product. If it has exaggerated volume, lessen the height.”
