MAC Style Black: MAC Young Punk Eye Shadow

I love these three products from the NEW MAC Style Black makeup collection: Young Punk Eye Shadow, Glimmerglass Blackfire, and Greasepaint Stick! They are the perfect black purple shade, or eggplant. Great color to add to your fall makeup bag!

The MAC Greasepaint Stick is an amazing eye liner! If you are looking for The eye liner you might want to give this one a go. It has a bit of a thick point, yet super easy to apply and to get that perfect line on top of lids, or even bottom lids. And the pigment is to die for. It’s super dark purple with black. This MAC eye liner takes the black eye liner into a whole new level.

CHANEL Introduces Collection Noirs Obscurs

Ahead of her time as an arbiter of style and color authority, Mademoiselle Chanel recognized and revered the color black as a symbol of luxury, modernity, sophistication and seduction. Today, Peter Philips creates a tribute to black with an avant-garde collection of trend-defining eye, lip and nail shades, uncovering the many nuances and undertones of this iconic shade. While these statement-making tones are more daring than demure when worn together, they can easily achieve a quiet elegance when color is limited to either the eyes, lips or fingertips.

ROUGE ALLURE LUMINOUS SATIN LIP COLOUR Limited Edition: Three limited-edition shades of the iconic lipstick exemplify the seductive feel of the collection. The lip colors are an enigmatic play on noir, each with a different, nuanced undertone. $30.00 MANIAC HYSTERIA OBSCURE

QUATUOR BOUTONS DE CHANEL QUADRA EYE SHADOW Limited Edition: Nowhere is black’s mystique more strikingly expressed than on the eyes. A shade quartet of deep green, mahogany, midnight blue and dark violet — embellished with the coveted CHANEL signature — creates a dramatic, yet sophisticated look. $60.00

Giorgio Armani Beauty Introduces Rouge d’Armani

Rouge d’Armani: Color ecstasy. Pure, luxurious ecstasy in lip color. More than color, more than comfort, more than contour, more than hold. More than a lipstick.

In image below Rihanna is wearing Rouge d’Armani during Fashion’s Night Out September 10th, 2009.

Rouge d’Armani hasn’t even hit counters and has already become a cult favorite among beauty insiders – editors, makeup artists and celebrities alike. For Fashion’s Night Out, the Giorgio Armani Beauty counter was a hot spot on Vogue’s “Beauty Itinerary” with Rouge d’Armani 600 selected as a favorite by Vogue editors, while later that month Harper’s Bazaar declared Rouge d’Armani 500 a “must-have” lipstick. Rouge d’Armani has also become a staple in makeup artists’ kits whose brushes grace some of Hollywood’s hottest stars, including Jennifer Nettles, Jordana Brewster, Taylor Swift and Camilla Belle. Several celebrities have been spotted wearing Rouge d’Armani around town, including Rihanna featuring Rouge d’Armani 401 and Kerry Washington wearing Rouge d’Armani 100 during NYC’s Fashion’s Night Out – it was the perfect long-wear lipstick for the night’s festivities.

New York Fashion Week Spring 2010 Makeup Trends: Marc Jacobs

Show: Marc Jacobs Spring 2010
Lead Artist: François Nars, Founder and Creative Director of NARS Cosmetics
Trend: Theatrical Makeup

Inspiration: The look of the Marc Jacobs collection was inspired by the contemporary dancer, Martha Graham: Old-fashioned and theatrical but graceful and precise. At the same time, however, there was a darker side that was shone through: a quality of gothic romance. Ballerinas with a sense of mystery- as if part of them, along with some of their makeup, had been left behind on stage.

Look: Left-over stage makeup. The models weren’t meant to have perfect makeup- rather, they were meant to encompass a “just came off-stage” effect. “Dancers in theater and opera always have white faces, pointed lips and an eye that is drawn outward, not upward-it’s very theatrical, very ballet,” said François Nars. He stressed the importance of the eye for this look, noting that “the shape of the eyeliner is important- it should open the eyes, especially underneath. The slashes of white is something they used to do in the 70s- it brings a 3-dimensional feeling to the makeup.”

Below are some key products and steps for recreating the look:

New York Fashion Week Spring 2010 Trend Report: Abi Ferrin

The Trend: Green or purple pop of color under the eye
The Color Story: Creating a clear color contrast to balance the collection, the makeup look features a champagne lid, green or purple pop of color under the eye, soft, subtle lash, creamy, nude lip and healthy, glowing skin

The makeup look for the Abi Ferrin fashion show was created by Sephora PRO Beauty Team, lead by Jose Rivera

New York Fashion Week Spring 2010 Trend Report: Abbey Dawn By Avril Lavigne

The show: Abbey Dawn By Avril Lavigne.
The trend: Smokey eye with a girly, pink pout.
The Color Story: Inspired by who she has become, Avril Lavigne’s collection is rocker chic but with a feminine edge. The beauty look brings the seemingly contradicting styles together by pairing a messy, smokey eye with a girly, pink pout.

The Abbey Dawn By Avril Lavigne runway makeup look was created by Sephora PRO Beauty Team, lead by Gilbert Soliz.

How to Get the Look:

Complexion – Even out skin tone with Sephora Hydrating Liquid Foundation. Buff on Sephora Mineral Pressed Powder to perfect the look.
Eyes – Smudge Sephora’s Retractable Waterproof Liner onto upper and lower lash lines and apply shadow all over. It’s a messy, imperfect look so no need to be exact.
Lips – Go for a bold yet feminine fuchsia tone like Sephora Maniac Long-Wearing Lipstick in Mat 01. Top off with Sephora Sweet Candy Gloss in Apple Pomegranate.
