Bobbi Brown interview with Marta Walsh
A year or so ago, I was given an amazing opportunity to interview Bobbi Brown, founder of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. I would love to share my interview with Bobbi with you, just in case you’ve missed it:)
Bobbi Brown is the queen of makeup. Not only has she worked with an endless list of celebrities as a makeup artist, she is also the brilliant mind behind the ever popular Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. Find out what it takes to be Bobbi Brown!
Bobbi Brown
Marta Walsh: When did your interest in makeup begin?
Bobbi Brown: Ever since I was a little girl I was interested in makeup. I used to watch my mother put on her white eye shadow and pale pink lipstick in amazement. When I was young I would paint all of my dolls’ faces with makeup, pretending they were real people.
MW: What was your biggest break as a professional makeup artist?
BB: Landing my first Vogue cover with Naomi Campbell.
MW: How was the concept for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics born?
BB: I wanted to create brown-based lipsticks (10) that actually flattered women’s lips, rather than looking fake and garish.
Allen Goldman Founder of Skindinavia Interview with Marta Walsh
I’ve recently interviewed the man behind Skindinavia, Allen Goldman.
In this interview Allen Goldman talks to me about the creation of Skindinavia, also known as “The Original Makeup Saver”, and what makes it an essential beauty product in every girl’s makeup bag. His philosophy about beauty. New Skindinavia product in the making for 2010: a simple mist that gives your makeup a sun kissed glow all winter! And his love for travel.
Allen Goldman
Marta Walsh: When did your passion for the beauty industry begin?
Allen Goldman: My passion for science has been around since I was very young. I credit my brother for bringing it to beauty when he developed a number of new transdermal technologies with a research partner at MIT. It was so exciting to see science that had never been done before. So many people believe “everything” has already been discovered. It hasn’t.

MW: How was the concept for Skindinavia born?
AG: Skindinavia was born from a lot of listening at makeup counters. I was the Director of Education for another skin care company dealing with top spas and prestige retailers globally. When we started, we had only four products. One was a light spray moisturizer that hydrated amazingly well.

Laurie Casas, MD, a plastic surgeon
Marta Walsh: Where does your passion for plastic surgery come from?
Dr. Laurie Casas: My passion for plastic surgery comes from a life long desire to make a difference in peoples’ lives and the opportunity to express myself artistically.
MW: Why patients are no longer keeping their injectable treatments a secret?
DR. LC: People know longer feel it is necessary to keep their injectable treatments a secret because these treatments are safe, reliable and affordable when performed by properly trained physicians.
MW: Why injectable treatments became so popular with so many patients men & women?
DR. LC: Injectable treatments are popular because they are safe and reliable and actually deliver predictable results which allow people to feel and look their best.

How To Transform Your Look by Marta Walsh
I have two beauty tips that will save you money and also will transform your look.
1. Lighten your eyebrows: Lightening your eyebrows whether with a light eyebrow pencil 2 shades lighter than your natural eyebrows or even using a bleach can make a huge difference to your look. When I say huge, I mean an instant makeover. Lighter eyebrows give you a much softer look and accentuate your eyes.
Celebrities that I suspect to lighten their eyebrows include: Oprah, Tyra Banks, IMAN, Jennifer Lopez, Vanessa Williams, and recently I’ve even noticed Rachel Rey. Yup:)
Blonde highlights and lighter eyebrows transformed Jennifer Lopez into a superstar
Anastasia Beverly Hills is amazing for anything to do with brows, so look out for their tinted brow gels and brow pencils. I love Anastasia Beverly Hills Duo Brow Wand (a new powder featuring a dual-sided applicator with Brunette and Ash Blonde Brow Powders).
Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel

Sienna Miller’s Hair MTV Movie Awards 2009
Frederic Fekkai’s Adir Abergel, tended the tresses of Sienna Miller for MTV Movie Awards 2009.
Sienna Miller, btw, was Marta’s favorite on the red carpet last night at MTV Movie Awards! Sienna was the best dressed and styled. I loved her green short dress which looked a bit 1960’s retro to me. When I think of the ultimate rock chic girl, I think Sienna Miller!
Love Sienna Miller’s hair and naturally tousled waves at MTV Movie Awards 2009? Here is how to get Sienna’s look, thanks to Frederick Fekkai:
Adir started out with the Fekkai marine hair zero-humidity frizz control to block humidity while sealing in hydration to keep sleek for all-day frizz & flyaway protection. He then added the fekkai coif bouffant lifting & texturizing spray gel at the roots to add lift and volume.
Gisele’s Colorist Harry Josh Interviews With Marta Walsh
Last week I had an amazing chance to chat with celebrity hairstylist Harry Josh who has been Gisele’s colorist for quite some years now. Harry Josh is also John Frieda’s International Creative Consultant.
I’ve interviewed Harry Josh for Talking Makeup’s celebrity beauty section: www.beautyinterviews.com
Harry Josh is a top celebrity hairdresser coming to us from Vancouver Canada. Harry Josh is also John Frieda’s International Creative Consultant and the hairdresser behind supermodel Gisele Bundchen’s hair. Aside from Gisele, Harry Josh styled hair for celebrities like Cameron Diaz, Gwyneth Paltrow, Natalie Portman, Fergie, and Reese Witherspoon.
I caught up with Harry Josh on the telephone interrupting his very busy morning to learn more about his fascinating career as top celebrity hairdresser.
In this interview Harry Josh talked to me about what attracted him to the world of hairdressing. His working relations with Gisele Bundchen. Gives tips to how we can achieve Gisele’s hair at home. Lists some John Frieda products he just can’t live without. Dishes out summer hair trends and future plans.
Marta Walsh: Why have you decided on a career in hairstyling?
Harry Josh: I always had a passion to be in front of the camera, I wanted to be an actor or a model and that didn’t work out so well. I then realized that if you can’t beat them, join them! I remember looking through fashion magazines when I was young , particularly Vogue, and seeing an outtake from a photo shoot of a hairdresser brushing model’s hair on a cliff. It didn’t even look like a job it looked like fun. As a hairdresser you get to work with beautiful models and to travel to exotic locations. It seemed like a cool job and I wanted to get it!
