How To Get The Sophisticated & Tailored Look of Well-Suited With Prescriptives

The Fall 2009 Color Collection is “Well-Suited” at Prescriptives: Tailored menswear-inspired looks are showing up in many Fall fashion collections. Prescriptives supports this dramatic statement with Well-Suited, a Fall Color Collection that translates this edgy, yet feminine style into a range of sophisticated shades from tweedy browns to silky purples.

Prescriptives Director of Color Artistry Jillian Veran explains how to achieve the sophisticated and tailored look of Well-Suited: “We all love a good lip gloss, but there is something incredibly feminine about the bold statement of a lipstick…in this collection the look of a creamy nude lipstick is accentuated by a strong eye liner…create a sharp straight line or a smudgy, sexy look, but either way you will want to line the inside rim for extra drama.”

Khloe Kardashian Interviews With Marta Walsh

Last summer I had am amazing phone conversation with Khloe Kardashian. The interview was for Talking Makeup’s celebrity beauty section: www.beautyinterviews.com

Khloe Kardashian and I chatted about her experience on her role on the show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” and she even shared with me some of her best kept beauty secrets!

I would like to share with you my interview with Khloe Kardashian, just in case you’ve missed it last time.

Khloe Kardashian is the youngest of the three sisters, Kim Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian, who co-owns DASH, a high-end women’s boutique, and SMOOCH, a children’s clothing store in Calabasas, California. You might also know Khloe from her role on the show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” which has quickly become an E! Entertainment fan favorite. In this interview Khloe talks about some of her beauty secrets: from her signature smokey eyes look to the lip gloss her and Kim Kardashian are obsessed about, her favorite city in the world, and future career plans.

Marta Walsh: How do you I keep your hair so beautiful?
Khloe Kardashian: I love Kerastase and all of their products. Once a week I use a deep conditioner on my hair by Kerastase because I get my hair done so much. I have naturally curly hair and I always blow it out.

MW: What are some of your favorite skincare products?
KK: I love Crème De La Mer. It’s a really thick moisturizer and it’s also good for your skin and body. And for soft moisturized lips I use The Lip Balm by La Mer also.

MW: Who came up with your signature smoky eyes look and what products do you use to achieve it?
KK: I don’t really know when we came up with the smoky eyes look, but we were doing the smoky eyes forever. What we like to do a lot is to fill underneath the eye with a green or purple eyeliner, something fun so it’s not so harsh. You can do smoky eyes with color, you don’t always have to use black. We use MAC eye shadows, because they blend so well. I also like using navy eye liner so it’s not so harsh as black. And it lasts forever. It’s fun to do smoky eyes, it always looks so sexy. In daytime you can use a brown and make it darker with a charcoal or a black, and it keeps all day

Sienna Miller Wearing CHANEL Beauté at the Tokyo premiere of G.I. Joe

Sienna Miller wearing CHANEL Beauté at the international premiere of G.I. Joe, Monday, July 27, 2009, Tokyo, Japan.

Get Sienna Miller’s Look: Sienna Miller’s makeup was done by Makeup Artist Kate Lee for CHANEL Beauté, and here is how to get the look:”For the Tokyo premiere Sienna wore a Gucci suit. Her hair was up and in a modern/ chignon type ponytail, so I decided to make the look more of a subtle version of Jerry Hall/ Helmut Newton by gently smoking out the eye with a mid grey matte shadow. Inside the eye I used CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Graphite to add intensity, and the silvery grey reflects the light. I wanted to balance the look without conflicting with her amazing suit. On the lids I used the grey shadow from the CHANEL Smoky Eyes Quad, with the CHANEL Eclat Lumiere in Beige Rosé as a base. On her lashes I used several coats of Exceptionnel de CHANEL Mascara. I sculpted the cheek bones with CHANEL Powder Blush in Fresque. Final touch… the lips were CHANEL Rouge Allure in Instinctive.”

Get the Look:Hayden Panettiere at the 2009 “I Love You, Beth Cooper” Screening

Get a sneak peek to Hayden Panettiere’s makeup look at 2009 “I Love You, Beth Cooper” Screening!

Hayden Panettiere’s makeup is all by NEUTROGENA.

Makeup Artist Amy Oresman collaborated with NEUTROGENA brand ambassador Hayden Panettiere to create the starlet’s look for the New York City premiere of “I Love You, Beth Cooper”, and now shares how you can achieve this gorgeous look on your own:

Inspiration: Hayden’s look was inspired by old Hollywood glamour – with a new young twist. This is one of my favorite makeup looks for a starlet. It’s sexy and subtle.

Eyes: I wanted to create a subtle smoky eye that wouldn’t fight with the bright juicy lip we were planning on using on Hayden. To create this look I started by using NEUTROGENA Nourishing Eye Quad in Blue Smoke, this created a subtle smoke to the eye by using graphites and blues, which are not as harsh as black. I then framed the eye with NEUTROGENA Nourishing Eyeliner in Cosmic Black, which has a slight glossy sheen creating just a hint of drama around the perimeter of the eye. I topped the look off with NEUTROGENA Healthy Volume Black Mascara. This look is all about lashes and lips. This mascara is perfect for the three coats of mascara used to create ultra volume.

Makeup Meltdown Solutions:Skindinavia Cool Flash Makeup Finish

I’m always on the look out for the latest beauty innovations. Finding  a way to help my makeup stay in place all day and all night, especially during the Summer, is quite revolutionary! What I’ve discovered is Skindinavia Cool Flash Makeup Finish. It is designed to be heat resistant and to hold my makeup in place. What I like about this spray mist is that it feels fresh as water and doesn’t have an overpowering scent or feel (it’s oil-free), so it is a no brainer for me!

Skindinavia Cool Flash Makeup Finish Heat Resistant Makeup Hold ($29): A weightless mist holds foundation, eye shadow, blush and concealer. Other benefits: Fewer required “touchups” throughout the day. Helps reduce makeup slippage into pores, lines, wrinkles, or scars.

NARS Fall 2009 Collection

Fall’s runways were dominated by two words: bold and feminine. Strong shouldered and form-hugging silhouettes, extreme heels and provocative thigh-high boots, and a color palette of classic hues turned up a notch to Technicolor volumes. These trends also illustrate the NARS Fall collection.

“For this collection, I wanted to create something fragile and strong, and seductive but not aggressive,” said François Nars, Founder and Creative Director of NARS Cosmetics. The combination of strength and refinement has become a hallmark of NARS, and is particularly fitting this season as the brand celebrates its 15th anniversary.

Below are the highlights:

NARS Fast Ride Lipstick – $24: This seemingly dark purple may intimidate, but swipe it across the lips and its true shade is revealed: a sheer mulberry. A color that falls somewhere between an intense plum wine stain, and a moody, deep violet.

NARS Tokaido Express – $16: This new hue is a cult classic in the making. Named after Japan’s most heavily frequented high-speed rail route, this lacquer is an opulent blackened amethyst doused with ultra-fine gold dust particles.
