The Hollywood Transformation of Katharine McPhee

Katharine McPhee is definitely looking different these days. I call it “The Hollywood Transformation”. First thing you do is dye your hair blonde! Think Marilyn Monroe, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Gwen Stefani, even Lindsay Lohan. Blonde seems to be the ultimate Old Hollywood glamour symbol. And I love how Katharine McPhee waves her hand to fans, very regal or very Hollywood. Even the hairdo is similar to Marilyn Monroe’s: short wavy bob parted to the side. To finish the look: add red lipstick. I approve Katharine McPhee’s new hair color. The questions is: Do you?

Do you see any similarities between Katharine McPhee and Marilyn Monroe’s hair and makeup?

Alicia Keys at the 2009 AMA’s: Get The Look

Tippi Shorter, Celebrity Stylist, styled Alicia Keys hair last night for the American Music Awards. Alicia dominated the stage, performing her and Jay-Z’s smash hit “Empire State of Mind” while also rocking it solo with her new song “Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart.”

Here’s how Tippi gave Alicia her red carpet hairdo:

Alicia recently got her hair colored a few shades lighter with Clairol, so Tippi started off by washing her hair with the Pantene Pro-V Color Revival Shampoo & Conditioner to keep her color looking healthy and vibrant for the camera.

Celebrities at the 2009 AMA: Carrie Underwood, Fergie, Shakira

Here are my celebrity picks from the 2009 AMA (American Music Awards)!

Carrie Underwood: I love Carrie’s entire look here: the dress, hair and makeup, but, the look is a bit soft and not so edgy rock and roll.

Fergie: Fergie’s dark brown hair color is growing on me. I like the sparkly dress. Fergie’s look here is a bit more rock and roll.

Shakira: My list is evolving in the order of edgy rock and roll. LOL. Number 3 is beautiful Shakira (“I get that a lot” that I look like Shakira. wow. Thanks guys:). Shaira’s dress reminds me of a gladiator costume.

The fun, vibrant shades – Spiced Cognac, Ebony, Bluest Black, Cherry Cola, or Black Cherry – are a perfect way to make a dramatic statement and add trendy style to your weekend look (applied without heat, it lasts 1-2 shampoos so you’ll be back to your natural color by Monday morning). Plus, it is so easy to do and really spices up your hair.

Rihanna at the Glamour Magazine 2009 Women of the Year Honors

Here some of the beautiful celebrities who attended the Glamour Magazine 2009 Women of the Year Honors last night.

Rihanna: wow look at the dress, and Rihanna’s hair color is looking blonder by the second. Personally I’m not a huge fan of Rihanna’s hairdo. Maybe her stylists try to position her as edgy and different, but I much prefer Rihanna in longer more feminine hair. But, this is just me.

Scottsdale Fashion Week 2009

As you probably already know I’m based in Scottsdale Arizona a place I love so much. This is why I was excited to take part in this year’s Scottsdale Fashion Week (SFW) and get to know my fashionable neighbours. Last night I was invited to attend a fabulous designers party at the equally fabulous Intercontinental Montelucia Resort & Spa in Paradise Valley Arizona. Wow, what an evening. The weather couldn’t be any more perfect and the Montelucia resort where the party took place was breathtaking. I was trying to take photos, but couldn’t capture how beautiful it was around there last night. Just imagine, beautiful clear dark sky, lots of palm trees, fire features around amazing pools, chocolate desserts, and beautifully dressed people.

The highlight of my evening at the SFW was finally getting to chat with LA Fashion Designer Kevan Hall who his sleek eveningwear was worn by a distinguished coterie of celebrated artists- including Celine Dion, Sharon Stone, Angela Bassett, Charlize Theron, and Salma Hayek. I’ve been at his show over a year ago during LA Fashion Week and was so glad to bump into him. After I introduced myself to Kevan I asked why Scottsdale Fashion Week? He said that Scottsdale is known to be a city who is into fashion and he has clients from Scottsdale who fly to LA especially to shop in his studio. He also agreed with me how gorgeous Scottsdale is. Kevan also talked to me about the colors he likes to use in his designs, and he mentioned that he likes to use unexpected colors and unique shade of colors. I had to ask him if he approves my outfit. I went for a rock chic look because I can’t afford to buy Kevan Hall, yet, I told him. He said yes, and I felt like the cat who got the cream. LOL.
