Take Your Look from Work to Party Chic in 5 Minutes Flat

Quick Tips from Antonio Prieto Take Your Look from Work to Party Chic in 5 Minutes Flat.

Renowned stylist Antonio Prieto offers quick tips to change your look in minutes. Whether going on a date or to a holiday party, these fast, easy tricks will leave you (or at least your hair) ready for anything!

Short Hair: Pomade is key. A look like Victoria Beckham’s may be slightly unkempt during the day but in the evening quickly be made sleek and pieced out with pomade.

Medium Hair: Hot rollers or a curling iron will do the trick. This look on Katherine Heigl can be done before work with either and pulled back to a low bun during the day. When ready to leave the office the bun can be removed and hair can be shaken out, still retaining the curl from the rollers.

Jessica Biel at the Planet 51 premiere in LA

Frederic Fekkai Celebrity Stylist Adir Abergel created the look for Jessica Biel at the Planet 51 premiere in LA.

Look: A fun, loose ponytail with lots of movement

How to get the look: Adir started by spraying FEKKAI COIFF BOUFFANT LIFTING & TEXTURIZING SPRAY GEL from the roots to the ends of the hair. He then used his hands to tousle her hair until it was completely dry. Once dried, he used a large barrel curling iron and curled the hair from the roots down. In order to achieve the textured look, Abergel sprayed a little FEKKAI COIFF OCÉANIQUE TOUSLED WAVE SPRAY. After, he backcombed the crown using a fine tooth comb and tied a loose ponytail leaving some front pieces to frame the front of her face. To finish the look, Adir added FEKKAI SHEER HOLD HAIRSPRAY.

Thakoon’s Spring ’10 collection demonstrates the dichotomy of east meets west by combining contrasting textures with tight and loose elements. The hair style reflects a surfer meets samurai look with a sleek half pulled back ponytail knot and the remaining bottom half flows down the back into beach tousled waves. Hair color completes the look! Eva Scrivo hand painted extensions with Color Touch demi-permanent with contrasting light and dark tones to create a beautifully, cohesive color palette of natural shades with excellent dimension and shine.

Lead Hair Stylist: International Creative Consultant Luigi Murenu for John Frieda
Hair Trend: slicked back ponytail

“It’s sharp, sleek, and super shiny,” hairstylist Luigi Murenu said. Murenu applied Kiehl’s Hair Gel to damp hair and then blow-dried it straight. He used a fine-tooth comb to make a deep side part and then slick it into a tight, low ponytail.

He flat ironed the tail and then smoothed over everything with John Frieda’s Frizz-Ease Thermal Protection Hair Serum. To finish off the ponytail, Murenu wrapped the base with S&M bondage tape.

How To Get Debra Messing’s Hairstyle at the Emmy Awards 2009

Debra Messing’s head-turning look was one of the most beautiful seen at the 61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. Complimenting her dramatic red Michael Kors gown, star stylist Robert Vetica created a truly inspired low, asymmetrical ponytail shaped into a free-flowing cluster of curls that resembled an elegant chignon.

“It was all about style complemented by sensuous movement and healthy, natural-looking ease,” said Vetica. “A smooth, shiny texture was the essence of the look.”

The technique was as brilliant as the look, and was achieved without any curling or flat irons, using only Moroccanoil Treatment, Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray, a blowdryer and a round brush.

To ensure smooth, natural-looking and weightless shine, Vetica first generously applied argan-oil infused, original Moroccanoil Treatment to Messing’s coarse textured, curly wet hair. “Her hair loves the ultra-light richness of Moroccanoil Treatment and it absorbs in instantly without any residue. There’s nothing else like it for this kind of shine,” said Vetica.

Heidi Klum at the Emmy Awards 2009: Get The Look

Nominee, Heidi Klum, steps out for the 61st Annual Emmy Awards with hair by celebrity hairstylist, Michel Aleman for Frederic Fekkai & make-up by Linda Hay.

Dress: Marchesa
Jewels: Lorraine Schwartz
Hair: Michel Aleman for Frederic Fekkai

Michel created a Fifties inspired up-do with a modern interpretation – ultra feminine with a bit of volume. To get the look he crafted soft texture with slight waves pulled back to softly frame the face. A strong middle part was accented by a chignon positioned back of the head at ear level. Michel started off by applying Fekkai Coiff Bouffant Gel to create some texture and then blow-dried the hair. Once dry, he applied Fekkai Coiff Oceanique to create the soft waves. He created a middle part and two pony tails in the back of the head at ear level, making sure the hair in front is smooth but pulled back softly. He teased each ponytail to create the volume and then brought together into one dramatic chignon. Aleman finished off with the Fekkai Advanced Brilliant Glossing Sheer Shine Mist.
