Persia White Interviews With Marta Walsh
I’m excited to share with you my interview with actress, singer, musician, and artist Persia White.
A little bit about Persia White (via wikipedia.org): she was born in Miami, Florida and raised in Nassau, Bahamas, and Miami. At the age of three, she earned a scholarship to the Nassau Civic Ballet Company. At age eight, she joined the Miami Coconut Grove Children’s Theater. As a teen, White studied dance, acting, singing, and painting. Her films roles include: various independent films, including Red Letters (opposite Peter Coyote) and the cult horror Blood Dolls.
Persia White’s TV movies roles includes: Operation Sandman (opposite Ron Perlman), and Suddenly, opposite Kirstie Alley. Her television work includes guest starring roles on Angel, NYPD Blue, The Steve Harvey Show, Brooklyn South, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as well as a series regular role on Breaker High with co-star Ryan Gosling. In 2008, White appeared in The Fall of Night, as the character Dawn. She can also be seen in Chrisette Michele’s video, “Be OK”. White recently completed the drama Spoken Word, set for release in 2010. Persia is a vegan and an animal welfare and environmental activist.
I spoke to Persia White on the phone this past summer. I had the most amazing conversation with her about her beginnings as an actress. Her role on the long-running sitcom “Girlfriends”. The award-winning documentary Earthlings which she co-produced and was narrated by Joaquin Phoenix. What does fame really mean to her. What’s in her makeup bag. And future plans. Persia to me came across as absolutely beautiful inside out. I want to thank Persia for taking the time to chat with me!!
Marta Walsh: How did you decide on a career in acting, and what were some of your first breaks as an actress?
Persia White: I loved acting since I was 8 years old. I started to do theatre in Miami on the Coconut Grove Children’s Playhouse. That was my big introduction to acting. Then a talent scout founded me suggested I should find an agent. I was also a dancer and kept dancing but eventually I got into acting, which is a bit easier. Dancing is such a hard career. I still love dancing. I used to be one of these artistic kids and always loved make people laugh. I would do stand-up comedy skits when I was young. I moved to LA when I was a teenager and booked my first TV Series: “Breaker High” with co-star Ryan Gosling. I did several TV guest star appearances like in NYPD Blue and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I then booked a soap opera in New York which so happened to get cancelled. I moved back to LA, which was good because I booked the role of Lynn Ann Searcy in the sitcom “Girlfriends”.
Ivanka Trump Gets Married
My favorite girl and Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump just got married this week. Did you know? Ivanka married Jared Kushner.
What I love about Ivanka is that not only she is beautiful but she also comes across as very inelegant and determined woman. Congrats Ivanka!

Dolce & Gabbana The Make Up- Fall and Holiday Collections
Introducing the Romantic Collection for Fall 2009 and the Golden Beams Collection for Holiday 2009: two new collections showcasing new colours, new attitude and new direction. Inspired by Dolce & Gabbana’s gravitation toward surrealism, each palette embraces a bold insouciance and a sexy spontaneity that challenges the archetypal face of beauty with the revolutionary Dolce & Gabbana aesthetic.
Created for the Dolce & Gabbana woman who seeks a look that’s at once disarmingly assertive and simultaneously seductive, The Make Up captures implicit femininity and explicit sensuality, specially designed for the woman who chooses a life of passion, full-on glamour and ultimate luxury. She aspires to perfection and achieves it; takes risks and succeeds.
The Romantic Collection – Fall 2009
Inspired by Surrealism, the Dolce & Gabbana A/W 09 runway collection echoes both revolutionary sensibility and rebellious spirit. Just as the Surrealists eschewed the conventional to embrace the unpredictable and explore the unimaginable, Dolce & Gabbana break the rules both on the runway and with a new collection of Make Up for fall, tracing the fine line between dreams and reality to create an innovative glamour that teases and provokes.
“We worship the surrealists; they pushed the limits-and proved that anything is possible,” says Stefano Gabbana, “With the Romantic Collection, the idea is to break away from the expected to transform beauty, creating a look that is about ultimate fantasy.”
D&G Fragrance Anthology
I’m a huge Dolce&Gabbana perfumes fan. I like to call Dolce&Gabbana The One, and Dolce&Gabbana The One rose as my signature fragrances. I feel ‘safe’ wearing them, do you know the feeling guys? Last week I took a trip to the Sephora store here in Scottsdale Arizona Fashion Square and couldn’t help but ‘whiff’ (that’s what I call it) the new D&G Fragrance Anthology. I fell in love with 3 L’IMPÉRATRICE. And btw I’m also addicted to the Dolce&Gabbana The One Body Lotion, it has golden shimmer in it, and you know how much Marta loves shimmers ans sparkles!! What I like about D&G The one is that it smells very modern, not too overpowering, wears well day or night, and very sexy. It’s not overly sweet or spicy, it’s just right!
The D&G Fragrance Anthology: With its characteristic audacity, D&G unveils a wardrobe of five, mesmerising fragrances that answer the fundamental human questions: “Who am I? Who do I want to be?”. At times, our characters are mysteries even to ourselves. As the label of metropolitan glamour, D&G recognises that – for the world’s most discerning men and women – the sense of self may exist in a beguiling state of flux.
1 LE BATELEUR
Aromatic top notes, yielding to an aquatic heart, on a cedarwood and vetyver base. The torrid heat of Le Bateleur’s beginnings cools into an aquatic heart, before settling into an earthily textured base. Fiery yet bracing, fluid yet grounded, the scent is a symphony of perfectly poised contradictions.
Josie Maran Interviews With Marta Walsh
I’m excited to share with you my interview with American model and actress Josie Maran. Josie is also the founder of her own natural cosmetics product line, named Josie Maran Cosmetics.
In this interview Josie Maran talks about what led her to create Josie Maran Cosmetics. Her ultimate beauty secret. Her passion to protect the environment and for all things green. The people that inspire her the most, and future plans.
Marta Walsh: You are known for your career as a model and actress, what inspired you to create your own cosmetics line?
Josie Maran: When pregnant with my daughter a few years ago, I decided to look for natural makeup formulas to use and discovered that none lived up to the levels of sophistication and luxury as I wanted. It was then I realized that after spending so many hundreds of hours in the makeup chair, I was uniquely qualified to create my own line of cosmetics, the type of makeup that I was searching for: chic, luxurious and, most importantly, healthy. Not long after the birth of my daughter, Josie Maran Cosmetics was born.
Lumene Sensitive Touch Eye Makeup Remover
I’ve been seeing great skincare brands at CVS lately and one of them is Lumene. I haven’t tried the whole range yet, but I did try the Lumene Sensitive Touch Eye Makeup Remover. It was very gentle on my eyes, wasn’t oily at all, and it’s fragrance-free (I’m a fragrance-free fanatic at times:). And lastly, it did what it was designed to do, it removed my eye makeup.
Lumene Sensitive Touch Eye Makeup Remover the description on www.lumene.com :
This gentle eye makeup remover gently and effectively removes water-soluble eye makeup. Its pH level is gentle on the eyes and makes it suitable for contact lens wearers too. In co-operation with Finnish Allergy- and Asthma Federation.
