The Perfect Companion for Your Favorite Dry Shampoo
If your dry shampoo is leaving your locks limp, Hotheads, the premier hairbrush line developed by stylists with over 50 years of experience of addressing a variety of haircare needs via design and function, has just what you need to pump up the volume…
Hotheads’ Mini-G: The Dry Shampoo Brush was specifically designed for back-brushing – a method of brushing the hair to create volume – and for leaving hair with a fresh, clean finish. This makes it a must for use with any dry shampoos as you need to lift the hair and apply at the roots in order to really reap the benefits. The Mini-G’s innovative tri-colored bristles each offer an added benefit for use with dry shampoo. The nylon bristles lift roots for a thorough application; the natural black bristles remove oil build-up efficiently; and the natural white bristles shine/polish hair roots to ends.

Jessica Alba at Sundance 2010
GET THE LOOK: Here’s fabulous Jessica Alba at Sundance 2010 for her Premiere of ‘The Killer Inside Me’. Frederic Fekkai Celebrity Stylist Renato Campora created Jessica’s hairstyle. The Look & Inspiration: a modern undone look for an evening night out, using a headband to define the look.
Here’s How to get Jessica Alba’s hairstyle at Sundance 2010:
On wet hair, Campora used Fekkai Coiff Strong Hold Volume Mousse. He blow dried the hair using his fingers in order to create texture. Next, he wrapped hair around a hair stick to the back of the head and locked it into place. Campora then diffused the hair at the roots.
Kate Winslet at the 2010 Golden Globes
GET THE LOOK: Frederic Fekkai Celebrity Stylist Renato Campora created a sexy undone chignon for Kate Winslet for the 67th Golden Globe Awards. The Look & Inspiration: Renato’s inspiration was a glamorous woman leaving her hotel room in a rush. He created a sexy, low chignon with an undone feel and lots of texture.
Here’s Renato’s hair tutorial on how to get Kate Winslet hairdo:
On wet hair Renato applied FEKKAI COIFF STRONG HOLD VOLUME MOUSSE mixed with FEKKAI ADVANCED BRILLIANT GLOSSING CREAM. These two products together provide the right balance to create a texture that leaves the hair hydrated. With the hair still wet, he created a side part and placed pins curls throughout the entire head and dried the hair with a diffuser. Once the hair was 80 percent dry, he removed the pin curls. Renato used his fingers to produce texture and finished drying the hair with the diffuser. He then applied FEKKAI Salon Technician Color Care Anti-Fade Top Coat throughout the hair for shine. Next, he softened the ends by using a curling iron. He then applied the FEKKAI Au Naturel Dry Shampoo all over the head to give the final look some modernity and volume.

Rachel McAdams at the Sherlock Holmes London Premiere: Get The Look
Love Rachel McAdams hairdo at the ‘Sherlock Holmes’ London Premiere? Talking Makeup has the scoop on how to get Rachel’s hairstyle thanks to Sebastian Stylist Design Team Member Thomas Dunkin!
For the world premiere event of the highly-anticipated Sherlock Holmes movie, Sebastian Stylist Design Team Member Thomas Dunkin styled actress Rachel McAdams’ tresses to complement her Grecian-inspired gown for a red carpet look that radiated grace and glam. All eyes were on Sherlock’s leading lady’s asymmetrical, loosely textured side braid styled by Thomas Dunkin.
Thomas shares styling tips for recreating Rachel’s red carpet look at home:
1. Start by applying a volumizing product like Sebastian Professional Texturizer to wet hair.
2. Blow dry in sections, and pin each section in medium and large sized Velcro rollers throughout whole head and allow to set for 5-10 minutes.
3. Allow to cool then take down rollers, and spray hair with a dry shampoo for added texture.
4. Emulsify a small dab of Sebastian Professional Microweb Fiber between palms and run through top of hair. Backcomb front section and manipulate for height and volume. Secure with pins.
Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo
Lately I’m giving the Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo a go. First time for me! I’m still getting the hang of using it. I put a little bit on my ends and tiny on the roots. If your hair is oily, the powder works well in controlling that too oily feeling. I wouldn’t skip my wash entirely with this dry shampoo. But on the days I haven’t washed my hair this product makes my hair smell good and refreshed. Verdict: it’s a keeper. Available at Sephora and sephora.com
